Blurry/muddy textures on Ultra settings
Hey, i have a massive problem with the damn texture streaming in this game, i never expierenced this issue so much in such a short time!

So this is how it is: i start the game, load my save and everything is fine. but after maybe 15 mins or half an hour or maybe just some jumps from system to system or even just going to the anomaly cause the game to decide to give me low res textures.
i tried different attempts to come by this damn problem, but nothing helps....
playing on ultra + dlss performance on a 3070.
the game runs fine performancewise, just the textures are buggy af!
any help?

Same... Same.... Ultra and High. I've never had this problem before but keep having to completely kill the game every 30 min of game play. Reload does not work.
Same, I also have this issue (among others) after the update.

I recently started playing NMS in VR, and im noticing, there is no such a problem now as if im playing the game as it should be! my settings in VR are much lower then on desktop mode, cause i hate reprojections when playing VR. After i guess 3 hours i never saw a texture mess like in ultra desktop mode...
my settings are on complete default! just turned dlss on in performance mode.

After loading the game it doesn't happen that much. but the longer I play the more textures go missing and after roughly 4 hours barely any of the high def textures get loaded.

I also started to notice that a lot of planets are showing gaps between the seems where the textures should connect. Giving me a hollow view below the surface.

Though not sure when these things started to show up as it has been a few months since I played the game and only came back to test this new update. But I can't remember having had these kind of problems in the past.

yes, that is something i also noticed. at this weekend, the nexus weekend mission, there often was no groundtexture, so i could see the stars through the ground, that was also new to me... :c

Well for the blurry ground textures I followed some of the advice I found to disable DLSS and moved back to TAA with 16x and that seems to have solved that. Have to see if it also solves the other graphical issues I had after a longer playing session.

Do you have Geforce Experience enabled by chance? Its optimization is known to cause that exact issue.

This is the first time I've experienced this with Geforce. But it does set all of the graphics higher than normal. I will usually bring them down a one notch when having drag issues and that usually works while the game gets ironed out. Then I will let Geforce optimize it again. This is the first I've had trouble with rendering textures. I've brought everything down to game recommendations for my card, (2 notches), but haven't played long enough to see how it does. I'm sure that by the time the expedition starts, I will be able to play on optimized again.

Forgive me but I didn't have the time to read every post here, but while browsing for mods today I did came across one that claims to fix this "muddy texture" issue, and apparently the author blamed tessellation.

Here's the mod
https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1316

I hope that helps. :)

Fine LOD is maybe not the smartest choice now:
Warning about Sentinel Update 3.8

Looks like the 'pew pew update' changed one of the files used by Fine LOD (GcGraphicsGlobals), so I strongly recommend that you disable the mod until I'll be able to release a new version. Thank you.

Same issues. I'm running an R13 with 64g ram and a 3080, and my suit looks like a washed out watercolor painting. Happens after 10-15min of gameplay, and adjusting the graphics settings hasn't helped me. The only way I've found to 'fix' is to exit out of the game completely and reload (no just back out to mode select, but a complete exit).

I've also noticed that the jetpack exhaust seems to loose it attachment points about the same time.
I'm having the same problem with the textures. When I launch the game, they seem to work fine. However this suddenly changed. Whenever I travel to another planet by using the warp drive or the space station portal, when using the portal with glyphs, when travelling to the anomaly, the textures get blurry and never load in.
It seems connected to loading screens, as it happens whenever I load in another location. I can only be fixed by restarting the game. The suggested fix of: "removing the shadercache" or by deactivating Steam shadercache had no effect as far as I've experienced. I think it's update related, as this happens consistently after the latest Sentinel update. It didn't happen before it.

I was doing little investigate. The problem is not about time spent in game but about memory usage. Game starts pretty well, i have many free VRAM and good enough performance. But every visited planet, star, station or nexus, game eat more and more VRAM. On 75-80% VRAM (I have 6Gb) texture streaming is start malfunction. When VRAM nearly ower game start eating regular RAM and even pagefile.

Im pretty sure for some reason game do not unload textures that don't need anymore, breaking main purpose of the texture streaming. I can play with texture streaming off but performance in this mode horrible and memory usage just insane. Look like when TS is off game not use low res textures at all, and everything you can see is in full resolution.

I don't thing players can do something by themselves in this situation.

can't say i was noticing something like that, my ram didnt run full or something...
also when i try to disable TS, nothing rlly changes, still getting blurry textures after a while.
i'd love to play the game without texture streaming and every texture on max resolution. :D
