I don't know either but I expect a mission of some sort to show us the ropes.

I think you get the mech cosmetics by raiding sentinel control towers or something.

I just installed the "AI" upgrade, and all it does is walk behind me.

In the plus side, you can get out both the mech and your pet.

Sentinel missions apparently start from your settlement.

if it is equipped with weapons, it will also fight with you when you are in battle with sentinels... i've been having some fun with it like this... especially when fighting the sentinels attacking my settlements' center :steamhappy:

Yep, if your Exomech is already fully upgraded like mine (multiple weapons, 3 X S Class movement modules) it will wipe the floor with most Sentinel enemies all by itself, hopping and flying all over the battlefield. If you’re actively killing all the healer Sentinels and fighting the quads and drones, it can pretty much defeat a Waker on its own. It does take combat damage however. So if you let the fight go on too long, you’ll have to repair some of its modules and upgrades.

guys its EASY I'll walk you threw from a fresh start

1. progress story until you get access to the anomaly

2. Got to Exocraft upgrade vendor & grab the 480nanite Minotaur auto pilot upgrade its hidden off screen to the far right.

3. go to the terminal between Spacecraft & Exosuit vendors cycle to vehicles tab & buy all Exocraft Bay's until you can Buy the Minotaur bay (also get the freighter Exocraft bay)

4. Find a Settlement not sure how I was flyin around & randomly one contacted me.

5. Wait for the anomalous Sentinel attack on your settlement THEN recive the transmission from your terminal DON'T LOOT ANYTHING, or you'll need to do another attack event to get the Pristine Drone Shell to start the quest chain.

Fair warning though the Sentinel Minotaur's parts can be broken which reduces the damage done & received of the mech but if you stun Sentinel Hardframes, Walkers, & Dogs you should be good OH & the Plasma Launcher stun grenade is a STAND ALONE Secondary weapon NOT an addon for the plasma launcher.

I successfully defending my settlement from the corrupted sentients but the mission did not start.

Do you need the mech present when you fight the sentients?

There's a new mission that is triggered. That mission puts you on the correct path for this update. Some players get it to trigger by warping to another system. Doesn't always work tho.

You need to get an special distress signal before the quest starts.

I can definitely confirm this. I can't get the stupid quest to go away. I'm in the middle of travelling up to a high-numbered galaxy, so I've put most other gameplay on hold until I get there. Unfortunately, every time I get to another galaxy, my settlement (which I intend to abandon) is calling me, wanting me to come and save them. Save yourselves, freeloaders!

I just did this. I used my oldest save with the maxed out minotaur. Went to the anomaly first thing to get that AI upgrade. Glad I knew not to shoot the canister drops from the first battle. That would've really sucked. Didn't complete it yet, but I just got the sentinel repaired at the anomaly. I had a couple of hiccups along the way that needed a reload. Such as, my ship got stuck in a couple of places and forced me to reload last save.

I was going to wait until after the patch, but figured, ahhh why not, I'll see how it goes.

unfortunately I am in a loop, perhaps because I collected the drops of the sentries before the NPC contacted me, but now every time I finish an attack, I collect but the mission does not proceed, indeed if I change the system, or restart the game, yes starts a new attack, with the same result, I take the drops, but keeps asking me to "analyze the wreckage of the battlefield"
