Just ignore them if you are not feeling it. There is no credits roll or anything. You can do the base computer archives forever and small tasks from any of the techs you want. I usually just do the farmer and the scientist because those are super quick.
Check here to check you did everything: https://www.nomansskyresources.com/story-missions
The only missions that remain in the log indefinitely are community research, the new log for discoveries in the specific system you are in, and the 3 at the top relating to Atlas Path, Artemis Path & Space Anomaly.
at this point , it's not even about the rewards
that's good info about the other quests, knowing which ines stay indefinitely.
i figured the "exploration guide" would stay, it just changes to reflect the stats of whatever world you're on.
it's actually cool that it tells you exacly how many minerals and flora are on the planets.
it's weird that i'mmnever able to find them all.
like, i'll scan every plant and rock and the log will still say that i only found 11/17 of them, at least you really only need to get all the fauna for those nanites bonus. .and that drives me crazy when there's that 1 rare underground fauna i can never find.
also some planets have this ultra rare sandworm that jumps out and you only have a split second to snapshot it and i miss it every time
Did you do the defend the base armorer mission. That is kind of the big finale one. Once you finish that, the armorer offers the tool. It is also one of the few pretty hard combat segments in the game...mainly because you can't leave or seek shelter. Also, you are usually pretty unprepared with offense and defense unless you know you know it is coming.
right now, my quests are
PRIMARY
the purge
the atlas path
the space anomaly
SECONARY
exploration guide
community research
the settlers
base computer archives
weapons research
under weapons research, it says "return ti the armourer"
on the teleporter screen, it shows a quest icon of a gun on my base, corresponding to the fact that this quest is still active.
it's not a "repeatable" like the photo thing that the overseer gives me or the timed one that the exovehicle guy gives me .
it's just an open quest that doesn't seem to be advancing, as if one of the triggers got broken
