My whole series is based on Role Playing. You can check it out on my YouTube if you want. It's a great game to loose yourself in. Hit me up if you wanna play.
I'm ok for a meet and greet. I'm in UTC +2 timezone. (switzerland)
I had an idea today. maybe we could make a steam group to unite the roleplayers who want to come. We can all start a new game/character in survival or permadeath and unite somewhere in the galaxy. It could make a nice region to visit if there is enough momentum :)
Edit: No need to make hardcore roleplay (well if you want, go for it!), but just for the fun of it :)
Who would read romance novels when you could read about epic space battles?
Ah, no, I feel a story coming on-
A grassy field was set before him, bubbles glinting in the sunset light. More frothing spheres filled the air, rising from the dirt between the yellow blades. Purple and blue trees swayed in the distance, a light breeze filling their small sails. An orange and red rainbow of color was spread across the sky, night beginning to take hold of the peaceful planet.
He had no idea who he was. He never had. He remembered, so long ago, when he had started his journey. He had awoken on a frozen wasteland, with no memory. No friends. No family.
Just himself and his thoughts.
He felt empty, even though the warmth of the sun and the wondrous sights should fill him more than enough. But no sight nor star could ever suffice. He had no one.
With a sigh, he stood up and swept the clinging dirt and grass off of his worn exosuit. Stars were beginning to fill the sky, and the waving grass began to glow. Their golden light shone on his suit, illuminating the white with a dance of color.
“Hey, Telemon.” He said, talking to his only companion. If you could even call it that.
“Yes, sir?” His suit replied in an electronic, inquisitive tone.
“How far is it back to the ship?”
There was a pause. “548u, sir.”
“Thanks, Telemon.”
He began the trek back to his ship, wishing that his jetpack wasn’t so heavy on his back. It needed a recharge; it was just a dead weight now.
A mournful cry echoed from somewhere to the left, cutting him off from his thoughts. “What was that?”
Lol I'm just kidding, that's from a while back. It could really use some love and a bit of a clean up. Welp, oh well.
Edit: And yes, I do realize that this was originally about role play.
But this sort of counts?
Crap, now everyone thinks I'm a weirdo. Which, I'm not denying,
It wouldn't surprise me if that lead to the rise of a new group or maybe a civilization if interest grew enough over time. The tallest tree started as a seed after all.
I more or less do the same, mostly just make up little stories in my head about whatever I'm doing at the time. Nothing in the way of hardcore storytelling, just pretending what it might be like to be there myself or why I'm doing it. My character doesn't have a backstory so much as just a lose description to give me a point of reference.
To RP in this game civilizations are great places where to start with other people...
...personally I am more in the ingame companies...
The only ship i care about is an heavily armed fighter
The pathetic unreliable Korvax i just ignore.
The treacherous Gek i try to avoid unless i feel that such villainy deserves punishement then i enter their systems and destroy all who cross my way.
About the sentinels, curse of the galaxy plague of the universe, honorless non-beeing, noisy tin boxes, annihilation is the answer
And when i am tired of the sound and fury of war i let my warship aside and walk on some forgoten worlds, living among the wild beasts, exploring the hiden caves beauty, defying the storms, day after day until i can sleep a dreamless sleep
A Vy'keen wanderer and warrior i am
I really like the idea of a Steam group, so I just created one for us! For now, it's called "Intergalactic Wanderer & Bounty Hunter Hub" (slight references to the Mandalorian xD ) and you can find it here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/wanderers-and-bountyhunters
Well yeah, just come in and find out, haha xD
I am also not too much into VOIP and that stuff, but writing works well in NMS, so why not just use that. :)
The timezones will probably be the highest hurdle for group meetups. But as soon as some people have joined our group, I will create a group event and try to find the best possible time for kinda everyone, probably sth like 11 or 12 (noon) PST. This is like 9 pm (+-) in Europe. Tomorrow or Sunday would be great, so let's see if we can get a bunch of group members until then. :)
