Runaway Mould question for planetary systems.
I'm hunting down runaway mould. I saw one video source of info claim that if you find a 3-star, like metal fingers or sac venom on a planet, that same particular one will be on all of the other system's planets as well. Is this true and I should move on to the next system?

Not sure about your question. Are you asking if you find fingers on a planet then there will only be fingers in that entire system?

runaway mould or fungal mould? I refine all of my runaway mould from residual goop and living slime. I get these from derelicts in space, and downed machinery on planets.Sometimes i think you can buy residual goop in good quantities..then I convert it into nanites all in a refiner.

Runaway mould can be collected from Curious Deposits. I think that us what OP is talking about.

Understood. Thanks.

Yes. The source said if you find fingers, sac venom, or floating crystals, the same will be found on every other planet and you won't find runaway mould. They say it is best to warp to a new system then.

I can not confirm whether it is the same throughout the system but I can confirm that if you find metal fingers or sac venom on a particular planet then you will not find curious deposits on that planet. When I'm hunting for deposits I will search for a save beacon, land and scan the area. I'll do this a couple times. That's usually all that's needed to find out if its a 3 star sac venom, fingers, or deposit planet. Once I figure that out I'll take off and try the next planet or make a base and start refining. My new favorite place to look for curious deposits is airless moons. They are usually free from lots of tall flora and you can usually spot them pretty easily in your ship if you aren't speeding through.

That's definitely good to know. Would you say the same logic applies if you come across 2 star floating crystals on the planet?

I have seen both floating crystals and curious deposits on the same planet.

I have a planet in my starter system of my oldest save 18 months old. It always had both even when they both yielded the same resource, which was random stones. Hiemal planet. Also hiemal planet during expedition 2, afair it was rendezvous 2 planet, it had both.

Curious deposits, are the best way to farm nanites, outside of ship scrapping. Do not even bother with slime. It is not worth it. Fauna scanning is pretty up there as well since HG decided to boost the reward. Now you can actually explore and benefit from doing so. I find Curious deposits most commonly on toxic worlds.

But I have heard of them being found on lush planets to.

The first system in expedition 4 has all of these. Wasan actually has metal fingers. I got a good boost in Uranium and Gold from them. Orlestie, the toxic world, I think that is the name, never payed attention even though I have 3 bases there, two of which are Mold Farms and one with a class S Copper deposit, has many Curious deposits, and has sentient plants if you want to have a scuffle with the robo-po-po. It also has some big groups of floating crystals.

Despite the way it looks, and despite it's storms, that little toxic world is pretty much what I would refer to as being God-Tier. You can land on that planet and everything will be just right despite a few annoyances. A world like Orlestie will propel you into and beyond the end-game.

On top of all of that, it is in a T3 Gek system. Everything is available to you provided you can muster the needed resources an units. Which is easy.

+1

Everyone looks for the planet with the pretties green trees and blue skies. If you want pretty green trees and blue skies go outside!

I just found a curious deposit. I forget how much runaway mold I collected but I made almost 1,700 nanites from it.

I will look around the other planets tomorrow and get back with you on this thread. They're all extreme planets. I strongly recommend s-class environmental protection. And buy lots of batteries

They're not all on harsh planets. I found one on an exotic planet with the wood and black pipe spheres, and a couple on my paradise base planet. Then one on a harsh volcanic planet with storm crystals and burial sites. I've stopped marking them now since they respawn relatively quickly.

Curious deposits are found on every planet type, but I never saw more deposits than I did on E4 rendezvous worlds.
