No quest marker for Alone Amidst the Stars
I'm on step 3 of the Alone Amidst the Stars quest to find Artemis. It's the one where you need to triangulate in three spots using a signal booster. I have the first two triangulations marked as done, but it's been a year since I last played and now I can't find my way back to whatever system I'm supposed to do the triangulation in, and I don't get any quest markers or hints from the quest description.

I've read countless post from people with problems with this quest, but they seem slightly different and I haven't found any solutions to my particular problem i.e. how can I find my way back to whereever I'm supposed to complete this quest/find a "suitable triangulation location" for the 3rd triangulation for Artemis? I've been to all of the systems close to my starting position, but no luck. And whenever I pop down a signal bosster I don't get the option to triangulate. What more can I do?

Thanks.

Make sure you have the mission active. When in doubt, go to space and use your scanner. That often pops off a mission resumption. That is just a guess based on my experiences with the game.

Use your discovery tab wisely, the most recent discoveries are typically at the top. The three or four most recent are the most likely candidates. You can use the teleporter to check them out.

If your not sure which system a quest is in, just visit a space station. Any systems with active quests will be marked in the teleporter

Maybe just try building a signal booster someplace random to kick start the quest.

Thank you for you suggestions. Unfortunately, it did not matter what I did, including going back to
every single system in my discovery tab. The mission would not "activate" back up again, except to say that I should place a signal booster in the lower right-hand corner, but not quest marker.

I did manage to solve the problem with the NMS save editor though. By setting the progress for the quest to 0 (started, but not progress), I was able to get a waypoint to where I should place my first signal booster in the very same system I was currently in. After that, everythingn went smoothly and I was able to progress past the previous point and finish the quest.

Weird bug, but thank goodness for the possibility to edit save files in this game...

I know this is an old post, but just in case someone run into this. If you're in the right system (I was able to remember that this was the first system I started in). Then place the signal booster down and use it. Tell it to triangulate your position. It should then prompt a waypoint for the next location. You can pick up the booster as well. You don't have to leave it.
It should guide you the rest of the way.
Good luck out there!

I have the same problem. The suggestions did not work for me. I'm on PC.

Open the build menu and mouse over the signal booster, it shows you what materials you need vs. what you have already. You can see in the screenshot below (which indicates I have everything required to build it).

Old thread, I know. I just started playing again and couldn't find quest markers for this quest. I did have a signal booster at my base. I activated it and voila! The quest marker showed up for the 2nd placement of the booster.
