how do you stop yourself from getting electrocuted in your base in extreme planets

was looking at the view in my base on an extreme planet when i got electrocuted by lightning and died. how do you stop that from happening?

Not sure if this helps at all, but my base is also on an extreme planet with lightning, and I just built on a tall mountain. I never experience lightning where I am; it's all on the ground for me.

Strange, I've been hit directly by lightning and it barely dented my shields. I wonder if they changed some thing.

It usually takes 3-4 lighting strikes to kill you. When you see your health going down and your view is shaking and off kilter, quickly go to menu and load last save.

i think it depends on the material
wood doesnt get affected

i was playing when i died to lightning while getting storm crystals
when i respawned in my base lightning insta-killed me
so i had to reload my save

Drop a save beacon, interact with it to create a manual save, exit, and then reload the save.

Never found a deadly planet like the one you are describing , are you in normal or survival? if normal can you link the coordinates plz? im very curious

had odd death as i entered atmosphere on my ship, noticed lighting and boom....dead and game bugged had to reset

I have been killed twice by lightening while flying around in my ship in a storm - it happened FAST, too: Shake, shake, dead.

I have never died while on the ground in a base or an exocraft.

I have wandered around (once) on foot during a lightening storm. In that case:
a) I got a message about 'strong electrical charge building up', which made me haul ass 50u or so away.
b) 'glowing target rings' appeared on the ground at the point where a lightening bolt was going to strike, so I could keep moving and just avoid the 'hot spots'.

I think Steven Frye and Hugh Laurie did a skit like that once. Something like:
