If you build all the exopads in the starting system (as an example), you won't ever need to build another once you build the room in your freighter.
thanks you two. i figured out my problem. even though i had already built about six different exocraft pads through out my game play, for some reason the game didn't recognize any of them when i built my geobay launcher on the freighter. i just ended up building a new pad after i built the geobay launcher and that seemed to have fixed the issue now and i can summon my exocrafts as intended now. probably a bug as all the info i read told me that building the geobay with an already existing exocraft pad should have been it.
