No, they aren't. They're permanent. The event to acquire them normally was time-limited.

Nope. I have been using my Twitch hauler in my Expeditions save, forty hours in and it's still there.

I just tried following your guide to see if I could get it to work, and no. No option 3 at the Quicksilver merchant. I don't use Steam's cloud, and I checked the file after loading the game, it still has my changes to it.

I've got multiple users so far that have confirmed it's working when they disconnect from internet or disable Steam Cloud.

Need a VAC-enabled server to get VAC'd. NMS is not VAC-enabled in any way.

Interesting. When I pull my ethernet cable and load the game, the QS merchant has the number 3 option, and I can redeem things. At that point, I can use cosmetic items either with the ethernet plugged in or unplugged.

But, I cannot see the number 3 option at the QS merchant if I have my ethernet cable plugged in (i.e., am online). Even after I've redeemed some items.

This is all while my GCUSERSETTINGSDATA.MXML remains unchanged.

UPDATE:
Just personally confirmed that Steam Cloud is storing and reverting the file. Working on a workaround for cloud users now.
Turns out it's not Steam Cloud, but another persistence issue.

Ok, I tested the suggestions, cause I didn't get an option 3 on normal mode save.

1. I turned off steam cloud for steam and tested: No option 3
2. I turned off cloud for No Man's Sky and tested: No option 3
3. I went offline for Steam and tested: Still no option 3

I have windows 10 if that makes a difference.

A thought comes to mind. Could a user that is having issues but has not linked to Twitch please try linking their accounts here?: https://twitch.nomanssky.com/#signup

Then try the edit to see if it takes.

Ok, thankfully I am a saver and pretty knowledgeable with computers. I found my old twitch account and jumped through hoops with all the authorization stuff and linked the accounts. I tested the game again, still no option 3 lol. I am going to try putting original file back in like I was going to do before and test out that theory. If still nothing, I will double check twitch linking to make sure it is all correct.
