Mod - Beyond base Building
I am not a very skilled user of mods - but I downloaded "Beyond Base Building" from Nexus.
Installed as per the instructions, the game displayed a warning screen (as expected) and loaded properly - but I see no new parts in the construction menu. Am I getting something wrong ?

What does it say on the nexus page? No instructions?

It provided the instructions for installing: in /GAME DATA/PCBANKS create a subdirectory /MODS and pot the *.pak files there. Also delete the file "DISABLEMODS.TXT"
Which was done. I am puzzled...

I don't believe that mod adds anything. It just gives you the freedom to be able to place the current buildables in positions, areas, etc....that you can't do with a vanilla game.

Try doing this:
"Simply try to build an underwater part on the ground out of the water, at one of your bases (except for the marine shelter, which is still an underwater part only).

If you can do it, and if the mod is updated for the last NMS version (check the short description in the "FILES" tab), you can be pretty sure that the mod is working as intended."

You may be right. The description says "there is now over 400 parts etc. etc" Since this was in the description - I assumed that some new parts may be available. Sorry for the confusion.
I am basically looking for some additional parts - like railings which snap to the edge of a floor - to create platforms. So far no luck - but then I wasn't looking far and wide yet :)
Thanks for the responses.

For new pieces, the gold standard is Eucli-ea:
https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/367

Obviously, though, none of this is visible to people without the mod, so keep that in mind for multiplayer.

Thanks, will have a look. I don't need much - just some obvious pieces which should be in the game anyway :) Railing for the decks, for instance...
because of a bug in NMS the mod will need around 15minutes to load into the game. please file a bug report on zendesk. this needs to be fixed by HG.

For me, my FPS dropped from 60 to around 26 using this mod. My 13 minute loading time was a big hassle, but 26 FPS was unbearable. Are you sure it's a bug on HG's part? The mod author seemed to indicate it was because of how HG split parts of the code for building parts. See posts at the link above.
yes HG does something different with loading base parts. since frontiers it takes about 15minutes to load this mod. while loading the mod the computer is kinda idle with about 15% cpu load.
This time HG needs to say a word about what they are doing differently and how eucli-ea can be set up to load faster.
i didnt notice fps drops with eucli-ea only because it's loaded.

What bothers me the most:
You can build certain parts from the mod and know very well that as soon as the part is called on a player without the mod, the game immediately crashes. This does not only affect Eucli-ea. There are other mods that I can use to crash other people's games.
I think some crashes in HUB or multiplayer systems are exactly due to this.
Even if HG doesn't officially support mods, a word or two and/or a bugfix would be appropriate.

I too installed this mod thinking my partial list of legacy building parts would fully unlock but it didnt. does anyone know how to fully unlock the legacy parts now that they can't be purchased anymore in the anomaly?

Using the save editor by Goatfungus you can add the legacy parts.

I have used the Beyond Base Building mod in the past and it worked grate for what I needed if for. It's the only mod I have used. I only loaded it in the MODS folder when I wanted to use it. I then removed it.

I downloaded the new version the other day and loaded it in the MODS folder. I don't think it's working for me. I didn't get the warning at launch and the resizing of the one item I wanted to resize didn't work. I was able to resize it with the older version. So, I tried a few other things I could do in the past and non of that worked either. I did note that there is a message on the MOD page that 3 axis rotation is currently not functioning. I wasn't trying to do that.

My main thing is that I don't get the warning, so I don't think it's working. I never did anything to deactivate the warning.

You probably need to delete DISABLEMODS.TXT in PCBANKS.

This, definitely the best for building, this one ads a separate menu icon with all the pieces
Edit: I was wrong it doesn't do that anymore the pieces are mixed with the regular menu

BINGO!!! That was the answer. Thought I did that already and didn't recheck. Thank you.
