Battery Depleted Bug
Noticing that when my batteries are being used the counter is counting up? Literally have no idea how long before my battery is empty. From googling this seems to be a long running issue. What gives. Ridiculous

From what I have read, it's a bug... but as long as it's counting up your good... you have enough solar/batteries to get though the day/night cycle. Never tested it myself though.

I was frustrated back when I tried to minimize the solar systems I was building. I finally gave up trying to calculate and build just past the needed power. I just double it and strut away knowing I over did to ridiculousness. But, I never came back to find my extractors did do their job. LOL

I have posted to the NMS zendesk more than once about this. I seems like it should be such an easy fix since the equation would be simple. For reasons best know to HG, these little issues never seem to get fixed. Couldn't they have a list and agree to fix one a month? :steammocking:

No my battery still died even if it was counting up

its pretty annoying. Maybe it isnt a simple fix but they could at least acknowledge it

Not sure then. All I can suggest without knowing more about your setup is add more panels and batteries...2 panels for every 1 battery. They are cheap and overkill never hurts! Or switch to EM if there is a hot spot near by.

Only reason I use batteries is to put one between my hot spot and my base to see when I need more power. Solar and batteries are completely busted and unreliable.

So far I havent had many issues since doing 2 panels per 1 battery seems to work well enough. At least nights arent generally too long on the planets I have made bases on

Use this, no more power problems

https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1949

Electromagnetic Generator:
-- Place anywhere
-- Ability to Pickup Electromagnetic Generator
-- 250kPs..This will increase depending on how close you are to an actual hotspot

Yes. As long as you play on PC, you can mod.

So have you read the release notes for what they do put in game... Seriously, you all would rather this little annoyance was fixed rather than major updates. You fail to give them any credit for jobs done and focus only on picky little items like this. WOW

Nobody said that what they added wasn't nice or that they haven't done a good job overall but these little things add up with each update and are annoying. If it weren't for people like this who report bugs nothing would ever get fixed, stop being a fanboy and attacking those who actually put in the effort that is required to get bugs fixed.

This thread isn't about giving credit, it's about reporting a bug. If you want to give credit make a separate thread.

It is a simple fix. I worked out that what you're actually seeing is a readout of battery emptiness divided by the discharge rate. Because the battery emptiness will always go UP as the battery discharges, you get a countup instead of a countdown.

Also posted that to zendesk, but, have to hope that someone reads it.

Been using it for a while now unfortunately I didn't when I decided to put a base on a planet of all 256 galaxies it took a lot of solar panels and batteries lol
