Storyline questions - Galactic Core + (SOLVED-ish)
I'm 660 LY away from the galactic core and I'm thinking of quiting just because of that... Anyway :
1- What is the Star seed for? Didn't get to create a star (no option so far)
2- What is the remembrance for?
3- PLEASE tell me there is a faster way to the core then jumping system to system. Even if I took the time to upgrade an explorer ship (if I can even find one worthy), It would still take me forever to reach it like that.

Thank you, OH GREAT Collective of Steam, for your help!

Nope, dying on the beach is not allowed 🤣

The Star Seed and Remembrance give you one health each.
There is no faster way. If you really wanna make it, stock up on warp cells and do it. Make the dash for it.
Personally, i suggest making that a long term goal, and just enjoy the journey.

The best Explorer can be upgraded to make a 3000+ ly jump. It will take 4-5 hours of jumping like that in a straight line to reach the center of Euclid. It's normally what I do until I get a fully upgraded freighter later on. A long time, but not forever.

P.S. Go straight towards the center, don't follow the path in the Galactic Map.

P.P.S. Whatever you do, don't quit! : )

Additional note on SS and Remembrance, they synergize when adjacent to each other to provide a third health point, and I believe they synergize with Defense upgrades to provide additional adjacency multipliers. Additionally,, Remembrance is a key to "Remembrance Terminals" rarely found in AtlasPass V3 rooms of stations and planetary structures, which provide snippets of the game's deeper lore.

You are mixing up things.

You finished the Atlas path, which WAS the main storyline, not anymore.
You are looking for Artemis quest, which will take you to the center of the galaxy, check if you have the quest Awakenings active and follow it.

The answers to 1+2 and many more are in the NMS wiki this should be your reference guide

As to 3, Yes there is a faster way, use a portal (There is one on every planet), the following portal address is good for ANY Galaxy and puts you one or two good jumps from that Galaxy core.

Nope I'm not.
I did the atlas path to the anti climactic end AND finished the main story long ago. But I chose not to wipe... I get that it was a mistake now, since its the ultimate end to the main storyline. So now I have to take the long way to the ending. Yipee!

Well, technically it won't give you an ending, it will send you to the next galaxy, which is part of the ending. Anyway, you could use a portal to get closer to the center.

Thank you very much, I'll try that.

I just want to finish it once, vanilla style, and then take my time to collect everything with another game. I've already completed two expeditions ; it just sucks that you can't get all the rewards in the quicksilver shop for your determination.

Also, the following portal address is complements of Mr. Bufferlow: (sunset glyph) x 12

That will cause an 'Atlas Addressing Error' and the portal will pick a system for you that is (always) 5K ly or so from the Galaxy Core. From there you can simply follow the Galaxy Map's path to the nearest gateway system (3-5 jumps max).

sunset glyph: Looks like a setting sun over the ocean; nothing else close to it in looks.

^^^Exactly this.

I'm currently at galaxy 60, and can go from outer edge to core in about 30 minutes (It would be faster if I didn't build a small depot base at each core).

You can also ask Polo at the Anomaly for black hole coordinates. They jump you a long way each, always towards the center.

You can use portals.
There is also a website that lists one portal address for a planet in a star system very close to the core in the first twenty galaxies.
You need to get lucky and find a monolith. It's easier now than it was.

At this point, hop in your ship and then go back out to make a restore point in case you get this second part wrong.

Then do whatever they ask you (of course the more of the language of the faction you know the better to understand what the request is).

If you get it right. Have the right offering and ask for a portal.

If you get their request wrong. Reload your autosave from when I said to hop in your ship and back out.

It will reload as if you haven't done the request and choose a different option when you do the request (whatever it is) at the monolith your at.

Finally, when you get it right, have the right offering (based on whatever faction owns that system, so if it's a gek system have a gek offering ready).

Give the monolith that offering once you ask very nicely from the monolith (that will now honor one request from you) to show you where a portal is.

Once you get to the portal. Do the same thing. Hop out of your ship. Go back into your ship and hop out again to make a restore point if your finished.

You should already have all the glyphs done before using a portal. If you haven't get glyphs from those special alien travelers. You have to ask them "Where do you come from" to find their grave sites and hear a small thing about their life. If you don't have all the glyphs yet, you will get a new one.

They all follow in order. So if you have 15 out of 16. You will get the last glyph.

Then, when you have all the glyphs make sure you have a number of materials to charge them up.

Once charge you can activate the portal and you can either do two things.

1. You can randomly start putting in portal addresses and see where they lead.

So besides new worlds you might find. You depart that world go into orbit of that new system you discovered and see how far you are now from the core.

If you want to get closer than where this portal lead you at the moment. Go back to the planet you just found go back through the portal to the original world where you first found a portal and then once your back at the first world where you started this whole thing

You can type in a new address

or

There is a website still that lists specific worlds, systems that are very close to the cores of the first twenty galaxies. You can type those in exactly.

Then you will be on a new planet as well and a new system but very close to the core of that system.

Keep following the path at that point or go to stars close on that path but you will most likely have just shaved off hundreds of thousands of light years. Making the core journey that much easier.

I'm in the 21st galaxy and I no longer have a list. I made or found a portal though.

I used it. I visited 16 worlds today. Some even much farther than where I originally was.

I finally settled on a planet and a star system that was roughly 300,000 light years from the core.

I got a ways to go, but by doing that I shaved off about 400,000 light years from my journey and it took me roughly an hour or so.

Thank you all, especially Guyver8 ! I've reach the core and.... Got teleported to a new dimension, HILBERT, that looks just like the Euclide galaxy. Most of my tech is broken ; all the multi-tool tech and inventory tech of my ship and Exosuit.

I still have some of the old prime quests ; The Space Anomaly and New beginings. And I have the Atlas path again, why? Going to the Core was quite anti-climactic. Maybe I really should have wiped the system when I got the chance...

Anyway, using a portal was the best thing, thank you all, next time I'll make a base there as soon as I find one.
Dirak2012 Jun 4, 2021 @ 7:04am
That's what I said, going to the center of the galaxy is not an ending in any way.

The quest "New beginnings" means that you can keep exploring forever.

The space anomaly quest will remain there forever.

The Atlas path is has been bugged for years and will repeat itself again.

Yeah, I expected the "same" exploring resuming in a new galaxy, but I thought they would have done something more then a big warping scene and then, pop! Reload on some random planet. I don't know, ask me again to wipe or make a real scene where you see the universe being reborn Or, god forbid, an actual solution. Anyway, I did it and thats good, I just wish it didn't end like a cancelled TV series.
