DLSS in VR
Did you guys get any improvements in performance? I still have to turn GTAO off. Terrain tesselation and volummetric effects are still set to enhanced. Eventhough I have a RTX 3070.

However, maintaining the same specs as before, the game seems to be more fluid.

Not for me. Game looks way worse with DLSS turned on and I still get the same amount of stutters depending on where I'm looking.

I didn’t notice any difference, although I barely played it this morning as I had to get ready for work. I just booted it up and walked around a bit.
Same for me with a 3080. I don't get more performance with DLSS. It's even worse.

DLSS in VR should not be supported

Send me your 3070 and I'll test it on my end. :steamhappy:

Hello!

Are you all running Ultra graphics settings?
Immersed Robot Jun 2, 2021 @ 9:26am
I came here to confirm my own results too. I have an RTX 3080 and am generally getting around 1-2ms faster (at the very most) frame times with DLSS over TAA or FXAA. It doesn't affect frame rate too much for me.

I made a video showing my results, and you can see that as the video goes on I seem to find the image quality isn't really improved at all and performance isn't affected as much as expected: https://youtu.be/P7zYmCAfrHw

I'm not using Ultra. Is that required to see any benefit?

Edit: I will say however (and mention this in the above video) that performance, regardless of whether using DLSS or not, does seem to be improved throughout since I last played the game (about a month ago).

I'm running a Quest 2 through Virtual Desktop and the difference is huge, it was basically unplayable before now I get a smooth 90fps with a RTX3070, have to dial a few settings back from Ultra though.

This is the first time I've seen DLSS in VR. It works great in 2D games but it's quite blurry for me in VR.

Ya, DLSS does that in VR. I experienced the same thing in Into The Radius (made the game much blurrier)

2080 ti reverb here. Few stutter now, settings on "élevé" (high i think). works way better with dlss, some stutters when going out of the ship, in ... etc ... but way better

but i was digging for an piece of artefact ... got attack by a drone through the ground .... then a robot dog jump inside (through) the ground to attack me, then jump back through the wall ground to continu attacking me .... annnnd then i remembered why i stop playing this game ^^

well done on the graphic optimisations tho (not a joke ^^)

going back to red dead redemption new mod vr :p

Hi HG_WhiskeyJack, is there a recommended setting to run the game in VR? I have researched a lot about this matter and I could't fix my game yet.

I run everything on max, except for Terrain Tesselation, Volummetric Effects and GTAO as mentioned before. On flatscreen, it runs on 90+fps stable, but on VR I believe the game suffers from reprojection.

If there is a fix, a recommended setting or an upcoming update to help us on this issue, please let us know. The game is another level on VR.

So setting everything to "ultra" is required to get dssl to work?
