Any tips for making this game more combat focused ?
I'd like to start playing NMS again but I always get bored because there is not much survival in NMS, like you can pick the survival difficulty but that's more a resources grind then an enemy increase...

Does anyone know mods or ways to make this game have more hostile aliens ?
I mean come on you've got such cool new weapons and ships but not really anything to use them for :/

Any help is appreciated :D

grins, grab a c class shuttle and only use vanilla rockets and PC :) have fun

( fwiw, i'm presently running an A class shuttle on my new toon and only using vanilla PC and RL with no mods... combat it a bit more interesting, tho the tiny ugly little guy is quite capable of taking out waves of QS mission pirates )
The space combat isn't really a big issue tbh it's more the non hostile planets haha...

Mods...because combat is only a small part of NMS by design. You want a space pew-pew? Try Elite Dangerous, the X series, etc.

Unfortunately Elite dangerous is broken thanks to their newest dlc, X series didn't work on my pc... but thanks for the info :)

Yeah, they all have issues--some more seriously than others.... I'm just saying that there are a few decent space shooters/sims out there. Vanilla NMS is almost peaceful with its casual approach to conflict, so it doesn't seem like a logical place to go looking for a compelling fight. A large portion of the community have been clamoring for upscaled combat since release.

That said, I only play X with a metric ton of QoL fixes/tweaks to make it tolerable, and E:D has always been a giant broken mess. It's sort of expected. ;)

Haha yeah you're right, I'm looking at a game called Empyrion right now it might be more down my alley :)

Find a planet with expensive resources and trigger all the drone wars possible.

If you crave combat challenge...this is really not your game. The only way to even make it sort of challenging is to stick with C class Ships, Tools, and avoid any addons that increase your defensive or offense. Never use mods but some of those may help as well.

The game was originally designed in "C class"....before there were classes. The NPCs were never really scaled up from C class so the only way to have anything approaching an even match is to fight on their terms.

The only scaling up is now we get more pirate sorties and (hard to be sure) but it seems like the three star ones are a bit better at aiming...at least I seem to take more hits on those.

It is too bad that this is the case though because Imho this game could be even greater with this addition.
