True. Silicate powder per clump of terrain is very low though. It takes quite a while to just sit there and chew through the dirt to get enough glass for the amounts that I'm looking for. I'd rather be able to just passively farm the frost crystal, because they're all you need.

Once you have all the glass you need they are handy for refining into carbon.
Yeah its 40 crystals per glass pane, sure, but with how much you'd get from farming you can make glass way more efficiently, because in the end still having to grind out silicate for glass will take more time in the long run I think. Harvesting one plant seems to usually gives you from 20-40 per plant, right? So if you have several dozen plants, well, there you go...lol.
The hardest part is harvesting enough dioxite. Plus you can always plant that one plant that gives you Faeciam or whatever its called, along with Gamma Root (flower?), then there ya go, living glass farm haha.
using a large refiner machine. So you only need to buy enough dioxide. That's much easier than to grow plants inside a greenhouse.
