Transferring accounts between platforms

Do you guys know if there is a way for me to transfer my (No Man's Sky) account from XBox game pass (PC) to Steam?

No, you can not move save files between the game pass and the steam version, the files are in different formats and therefore incompatible with each other.

If it was possible to move the files, there would also be some problems. such as the discoveries and bases that you uploaded on the gamepass version, they would still be owned by the gamepass account according to HG server.

Gumsk's answer shows, however, that quite recently there was a solution by a Reddit user, although rather cumbersome to perform, but should work.

I can confirm this works. Bought NMS here and transferred 50 hours old save from gamepass.

Follow the reddit link. It works. I haven't tried after the last update though. A couple of things that come to mind that are kinda important (and might not be in the Reddit instructions are:
1- Do open NMS on XBGP first (and save your game there, so it is saved with the latest version of the game) before exporting
2- Pets didnt transfer (havent checked if there is an updated version of the tools needed)
3- My normal save transferred no problem but I also had a Creative Save and that one I havent been able to transfer it

Just go for it and give it a try, it is simpler than it looks if you follow the guide step by step

NomNom is dead since Prisms, so the transfer method doesn't work. The author is working on an update and we can hope it includes an automatic way to do this instead.

Thanks for the update. I was thinking in doing something to at least make this a "semi-automatic" way to do it. If they put this together, that would be fantastic.
