squid ships?

How do you get these? Been seeing them pop up in screenshots, what kind of systems are they located in?

Oh, thanks for that! Couldn't remember the link and you saved me a trip through google. Squid ships are next on my list to find, now that I have the best fighter and cargo hauler.

Every system in the game has one "Exotic" ship, either the type with the ball in the middle or the squid. You have to be fairly patient (or lucky) for one to spawn is all. Or google "nms squid ship first wave spawn," one or the other.

They are exceedingly rare. It takes a good half an hour per system to see every ship even if you reload a lot at a trade terminal, and some 90% of exotics are not the squid type. I have seen 2 since I started playing again, and bought one in cherry red. In that same time I have seen literally 100+ of the other types, most commonly the 'tall wing' variety.
If you want it bad enough it may be worth your time to try to go to a known system with the color you want (I think there may only be 1 style of squid, but I am no expert).

wow, checked out the ships Wiki, with all that information to use you never have to really play again do you? Just ride out there gather your fleet and then quit since you'll have nothing else to do from then on.

That is correct if the only thing that interests you about the game is getting a visually appealing fleet.

I have found the Squid ship to be one of, if not THE rarest in the game. I have just over 3000 hours on my original save from 2016, and have seen exactly 2 of them, one of which I bought. It's a blue one, got it about 1200 or so hours ago in my save, and have only seen a Squid ship on one other occasion, and it was another blue one.

My current "fleet" consists of 5 Exotics and one fighter. Got them all the hard way, didn't use any guides or portal travels.

Have seen 3 during 2600hrs. Got them all. When hunting, the thrill isn't the kill, it's the stalk.

heres is my fleet, earned the hard way. Currently stalking a TIE-hauler waiting on that S class to spawn has been a pain. Just finished the blue fighter, its 48-21 and ready to blow up some bad guys

They are indeed so rare that on EVERY start I add in a couple "Starship AI Valves" and forget about them unless I see one... or you know... something I just gotta have.

I have never really liked the look of the squids, but picked one up because I have seen them so rarely. 2900 hours and only seen 3 before (other than at the Nexus). My
current game seems to be giving a lot of the white and gray toned exotics.
I finally found a red exotic but all the others have had the same white color combo.
