Food effects?
So I made a meaty soup with liquid cheese of some kind. The companion app told me the effect of eating it was merely "life support 20%."

I took this to mean something like, like support would be bolstered by 20% for some period of time. So I ate it and it told me my life support was recharged, but I can't tell what the difference is.

Do you guys know how this works? (i.e. what is the exact effect of "life support 20%" and how long would it last etc?)

Thanks!

Bonus question:

If I give these to the nanites guy in the anomaly, do I need to give him different items every time, or can I just feed him a stack of the best food item, like the grease pie in order to get a ton of nanites? It kind of seems like he loses interest in stuff if I give him the same thing.

Thanks!

I have never ate any food, so I don't know about effects.
About the food "review" the outcome is random, it will hate it or like the exact same dish for no reason.

Recharges 20% of your life support bar. Five will complete recharge it.

Yes that is very little reward for the effort. The food system is half baked and poorly balance.

Bread is the only food worth making and stacking. Gives a jetpack boost, like a deuterium plant but not quite as powerful. Why bread? I imagine my guy stuffing a loaf into the fuel tank whenever I use it.

Cronus will select three edible items from your inventories, you pick one for him to try (the guy is an animal, will often select bait or nanotubes). Rewards are semi random but he will usually give more nanites for more complex products, especially desserts.

This can't be right. So you could give him raw meat and he's be like "this is amazing here's 160 nanites!" and then give him grease pie and he's be like "Meh, boring!" Can someone verify that this is the case?

Thanks for the reply on this. Yeah, that's totally disappointing! It's worse than what you get from plucking a sodium flower after I milked animals and processed flower and made all kinds of stuff. Very weird.

I'm just amazed they don't reflect the same quality boosts as the other modifications, C through S. Like if I go thought the trouble to make tier 4 food, it should give me 10 minutes of S-quality boosts. Or if I sell a stack of them, maybe I could afford to buy an S-quality upgrade with the nanite profits. Hrm.

The nutrition thing feels like they got through phase 1, released it, and decided to not go any further with the idea. It really is just a side activity for those that enjoy collecting and creating all the recipes. There is no payoff other than knowing you finished it.

I guess the Nexus guy does give some nanites for things but you could spend the time exploring and get just as many if not more.

I got bored with it pretty quickly and maybe got 40% of the recipes before I could not find any joy in it. I was fortunate that I placed my animal stuff right on a spawn point so I didn't have to drag them over to it each time.

It's too bad because I really like cooking in games and finding all the materials.. What with all the animals and different meats and plant materials why would they abandon it? It's all in the game already. Crazy.
