You need to run something like MSI Afterburner and see where the issue is.

Its optymalization problem,not hardware

There are no proper fixes for it, having tried pretty much all of them I can say majority of them are just placebo effect.
Game ran really well before the Expedition update, whatever happened, it's been affecting me even though I'm not playing the expedition mode. FPS drop occur no matter what setting I'm at.

It's a pain, but first update your graphics driver if you haven't already. Try re-installing Steam and NMS and see if that helps. If that's still not working try re-setting windows.

An alternative tip:

Create a guest account, install Steam and NMS only on it, do not install anything else. Try and see if things improve.

If you're not playing multiplayer, you can disable this in Options - Network. You will see an improvement in FPS

Like others have said, disabling multiplayer can help performance. Have you looked into the numlowthreads/numhighthreads method at all yet?

Low cpu usage, low gpu usage and not banging the ssd. The game is out of sync with the monitors refresh rate which you can see by turning vsync off and capping the fps at your monitors rate. It has large tear areas constantly in the middle of the screen. When you turn vsync on it stutters constantly and more so when you turn sharply. Then there is issues with the cache system and lod systems. Its the game engine.

I loaded version 1.13 (Foundation Update) of NMS this week. I locked the FPS at 30FPS using RTSS (29.xxxxxx) and maxed everything out. The game ran at constant and stable frame time.

Version 3.35 (experimental...) almost achieves the same level of stability, even when everything is set to the lowest. That being said, I think the latest experimental patches helped a lot (the one about derelicted freighters).

Honestly, I think Version 1.13 Ultra Settings are 3.35's "Low/Standard" Settings. 😅 I have a GTX 970 and "Enhanced" textures don't seem to go well with the 3.5GiB + 0.5GiB of VRAM, so I had to settle for "Standard" textures, which are blurry as hell. I think old textures were better. :(

It's a well-documented issue with many causes and many fixes to try. Use the search bar on the right for a faster solution. Using the search function abrogates any responsibility for describing the problem in detail, as every possible detail has been discussed previously with an attempted solution for it. This game is a half-functional buggy mess, we have sent numerous bug fix requests over the years and there has been little response. We just have to work through it the best we can, because when it works it is fun and engaging for most players. Some people have no trouble at all, some people find the software completely inoperable. The search feature saves you a lot of time and finds your solution quickly if it exists. Use it for your own convenience.

Have the same issue, constant fps drops and stutter every minute or 30 seconds no matter the settings. Tried vsync-off, tried managing cpu cores/threads number in txt file, but nothing helps. When it's not stuttering fps is great. It's definitely the optimization and game engine issue since the rest of the even much "heavier" games run smoothly: RUST, Ark, JW Evolution, Elite (including even being on the planet surface in Odyssey. yeah, it heats up my video as hell to 70-75C but still no lags). NMS on the other hand not even touching my video (55C like in low load scenarios), low CPU usage. A friend of mine plays with an integrated video card (with 5600X only) and it runs smoothly, I'm on the other hand with 16gb Ram+1070 keep having stutter.

I've had random fps drops because of streaming. If you don't have the game on a ssd you could try moving it to one to see if it helps.

Edit: by streaming I mean game loading, not that I was streaming on twitch or something like that..

it's on the ssd, 1Tb gammax nvme ssd. All games run smoothly besides NMS, (well and besides Star Citizen, but that is pretty legit, lol ).
