How to rename solar systems?

I know you can rename planets, but is there a way to rename solar systems?

Yes, basically the same way you rename planets. On the list of star systems and planets on the left hover over the system name and you should get the same options.

I see it now. Looks you can't rename the system you start in, as the option seems to only be available for other systems(?)

You can rename systems unless they were already discovered by another player.

You don't. Once it is uploaded it can not be changed, always check your spelling before hitting the go button.

For some reason we can change base names after uploading.

Open your save "save.hg" in notepad.
Press Ctrl + F and type the existing system name.
Replace with your own.
Enjoy.

That only changes it locally, that will not effect the server.

I wish it stayed, though. I renamed a system to Tripsum III and it only shows it when I move over it in the galactic map. It still shows the old name until I do. It's irritating, as I could have sworn renaming stuff meant renaming stuff for keeps, not for when I mouse over it.
