How can you trade a starship to another player?

What is the best method of giving your ship to another player? Does the ship maintain its inventory, stats, slots, and technology? Where might I find more information on this? I'd like to trade one of my ships for some Cargo Bulkheads!

You can't currently. While I do hope HG will introduce an auction or a trade feature in the Anomaly sometime soon.

You can't directly sell to another player, but you can sell to an npc then your friend can buy it from the npc if he talks to them before they leave. The ships class and slots will be randomized when the Npc buys it.

I wonder if you had sold an exotic if it would remain an S class or be re-rolled

Both of you go to find an abandoned ship. You claim that ship, your ship will be abandoned. Your friend claims that ship. You reload save. Both of you have the same ship now.

Your ship would only be abandoned if you were at the max of six. Your friend could then likely claim it...although it is not clear whether it would be randomized or the exact ship you gave up.

You would still be out the original ship if I understand how it works.

Just tested this out with a friend. When we did this at a space station, the stats, slots, and tech was all randomized and re-rolled.

Use the save editor to export the ship, then your friend imports it.

Yea I think this is a good place to use the save editor without feeling like you're cheating. Come up with a price for your friend to purchase it for, add that cash to your save, remove it from theirs, then export your ship, import it to their save, then delete your version of the ship. That's why I like the save editor so much. Sure, you could cheat everything in, but show a little restraint and it can help in scenarios like this.

You just have to be really quick about it because if the NPC gets in the ship, you will lose the ship.
