What happened to freighters, or 'space rescue' missions?

Hey, I was playing the latest expedition and I got this space rescue once and noticed the freighter was worth circa 125kk (by looking at it with scanner) when I landed on it. The captain dude didn't give me a discount, like they used to before expeditions. So I ignored it and took the reward. Later I was unable to buy this same freighter because dialog options were 'salute' or 'leave' so all I could do was find another one.

Now, since I didn't really need the freighter during the whole expedition, I decided I'll go farm on in a 3-star system, now that it's over. But I can't get that space rescue mission no matter how much I warp to anywhere. I was trying for 4 days since sunday. Anyone has similar experience?

The expedition gives you a free freighter. You really don't need another one since the expedition can be finished in a few hours (8 hours in my case and I took my time).
About freighter battles, they should still be there.

Yes, the one where you warp into a system and there they are attacking a freighter.

I just loaded an older save of survival game I didn't touch for few months and warped 2 times, I got it. In expedition saves I can't get it.

Just wait till the expedition is over and use your current freighter in the meantime

Some things like this are constrained in the expedition mode.

IN all my 4 runs thru Expedition 2 I have run into the Freighter Fight, but it doesn't come til much later. I traded mine off one time, but it really doesn't matter if you are JUST playing the Expedition.

ONE of my runs was the BEST start I have ever had in the game. 4 maxed out Exotics, a Maxed out A Class Friegther, a maxed out A CLass Experimental Multitool, and a maxed out A Class Alien Multitool. Oh yeah, and around a Billion in the "Bank". I'm keeping THAT game!

You mean you got all that just by starting the expedition another time? I did that too and I got EXACTLY the same ship and freighter. I was under the impression you player ID plays a role when drawing ships, multitools and freighters when starting an expedition. I also started Expedition 1 twice as well (I was forced to due to bug that ended it after 1 hour the first time). At that time I also got the same explorer as the first time and the same multitool upgrades. Never got any credits. Please confirm when did you get all these things you mention.
