The issue for me isn't finding the particular freighter variation, it's literally just trying to get an S class version.
Usually first I try to find a nice freighter for me when I hit that SECOND 5 warp event (that is after 10 warps, not taking the first freighter, the second one is FREE TOO!!,
AND it will be a Capital class one!!)
Then the "long" Respawn Run with some 1-20 tries until I get that A or even S class variant of that. Usually an A class comes in less than 10 tries.
ah thanx, that's a difference of course!
btw. when did that changed? even the wiki seems outdated on that..
seems I have to find one now... ;-)
Learn to use the save editor. I used the SE for this, but not in a "cheaty" way (imo). After not getting S spawn after 20 attempts in the system I want, for that precious Venator style, I bought that freighter in A class. Copy paste the seed, save it for later. Then I played the game. The next S class capital ship that spawned, I didn't care what model it was. Back to the save editor, copy / paste the model seed from the A class into my new S class. Now it looks the way I want, but I actually spent a lot of credits to get there and didn't mess with any of the numbers.
Thanks for clarifying that. I was confused where he got the 34 figure from.
I see, similar to spaceships. A classe freighters can spawn up to 34/9 (8?) too, that's why I propably never really bothered looking, especially as I only very seldom found upgrade modules for freighters.
thanx
Before Desolation A class Capitals had 24-34 slots and S class had 33-34 slots.
As I only rarely use the freighter (more into Bases and Ships) I haven't noticed these new changes.
Propably true, but my fighters get to 3000 ly and are there much faster ;-)
(buy A/S class ships, salvage, sell, get modules and nanites, rinse and repeat. ;-) or take the longer way, still your ship will always be higher in range until you hit the max there...
(also with ship upgrades you can jump a lot, and you should have ressources plenty at that stage anyway, even in survival)
