Increase S class freighter spawn chance
Hello Games. Ya'll seriously gotta up the spawn rate of S class freighters. It shouldn't take hours, upon hours, upon hours of searching in T3 economy systems just to find one. Make the things as expensive as you want but at least allow players to have a reasonable chance to find them that doesn't involve them having to smash their face against a brick wall for what is, on average, 7+ hours of searching/grinding. If you even manage to find one at all.

in my opinion the spawn chance shouldn't be below 10% (In tier 3 wealth systems to be precise). And from personal experience and online reading, I now for a fact that the spawn chance IS BELOW 10%. It's kinda ludicrous.

The odds of stumbling upon an S-Class Freighter go up the longer you play and the more you explore. NMS has never failed to drop one or more S-Class freighters on me after I've been at it for a while. But if you're just trying to rush through the game or "farm" for a specific freighter, this game will frustrate your attempts.

Doesn't excuse low spawn rates. And it isn't like this is me trying to go for some, uber rare design, legendary, unique design that is meant to be rare, sort of freighter. It's just a standard capital vessel of a particular design variation. General spawn rates are far too low in T3 systems. From what I've seen, it's a fixed 2% spawn chance even in T3 systems. it's RNG, not a matter of 'playing longer'. Playing longer doesn't bump up the spawn chance, it's just you going through more RNG rolls.

The issue for me isn't finding the particular freighter variation, it's literally just trying to get an S class version.

I played a few weeks and made it all the way to the canter of Euclid with a souped-up Explorer. B-Class freighter worked fine until I stumbled upon an S-Class Sentinel Battleship in Hilbert. And of course I took it. By the way, I frequently find S-Class freighters in systems that are not 3-star.

Is there anything a S freighter is "better" than an A freighter? betsides some minimal +10% warp range I never use? (I'm always using my longrange ship to warp: way better range!!)

Usually first I try to find a nice freighter for me when I hit that SECOND 5 warp event (that is after 10 warps, not taking the first freighter, the second one is FREE TOO!!,
AND it will be a Capital class one!!)
Then the "long" Respawn Run with some 1-20 tries until I get that A or even S class variant of that. Usually an A class comes in less than 10 tries.

S class freighters have 21/48 inventory slots.

I've never refused the first freighter and I've never re-tried for a better class. I just take what the game gives me when it's ready. And I always end up with S-Class everything eventually. No hurry.

Learn to use the save editor. I used the SE for this, but not in a "cheaty" way (imo). After not getting S spawn after 20 attempts in the system I want, for that precious Venator style, I bought that freighter in A class. Copy paste the seed, save it for later. Then I played the game. The next S class capital ship that spawned, I didn't care what model it was. Back to the save editor, copy / paste the model seed from the A class into my new S class. Now it looks the way I want, but I actually spent a lot of credits to get there and didn't mess with any of the numbers.

S-Class never spawn with more than 34/9 but they can be upgraded thanks to Desolation.

Thanks for clarifying that. I was confused where he got the 34 figure from.

I see, similar to spaceships. A classe freighters can spawn up to 34/9 (8?) too, that's why I propably never really bothered looking, especially as I only very seldom found upgrade modules for freighters.
thanx

Fully upgraded S-Class Freighter can jump over 6300 ly. And it can jump over 120 times before refueling. One-tank trip to the center of the galaxy, less than 2 hours.

Before Desolation A class Capitals had 24-34 slots and S class had 33-34 slots.
As I only rarely use the freighter (more into Bases and Ships) I haven't noticed these new changes.

Propably true, but my fighters get to 3000 ly and are there much faster ;-)
(buy A/S class ships, salvage, sell, get modules and nanites, rinse and repeat. ;-) or take the longer way, still your ship will always be higher in range until you hit the max there...
(also with ship upgrades you can jump a lot, and you should have ressources plenty at that stage anyway, even in survival)
