Settlement change
Okay so I got my settlement up to S (back to B up to S back to b up to S LOL). I'd like to switch to a new settlement. How? It says get a settlement chart and E to plot or save location of a nearby settlement. Two problems, one chart doesn't do anything and no settlements are shown anywhere and two, someone said if you change settlements it causes a bug. Help anyone?

i think, you only get one settlement, that's it, period, you could use the atlas to reset?

No I've read it enough that you can change settlements that I believe that's a thing and since one guy said he got the bug WHEN he changed settlements, I'm guessing you can cuz he apparently did.

Undocumented features abound.

I started one there was a bug (construction without a terminal to input stuff to finish it) so I just deleted the save and I was able to start another one. I think it's the only way to start a new settlement

I made a post on searching for settlements. It applies to finding a new settlement. Once you find your new settlement, click on the center town thing (forget what's called).

You absolutely can change settlements anytime you want. You cannot (as of right now) have more than one settlement at the same time.

Hope this helps.

thanks for your help but my problem is none of my settlement maps do anything, they just disappear. Doesn't ever do the above view search or give me a location on my hud. It literally just disappears out of my inventory. So I can't even find a new settlement.

What I'd like to know is if the settlement thing has a true end to it. Kinda nice they stuck a portal in there, but there are times I just want the settlement to end. Like why cant I find a settlement on a planet where I dont need to charge up any enviroboosters [there are times I tire of that aspect]?

If the settlements were more like the undersea quests which reset every so many systems etc, I'd be happier.... In some aspects I get what the op is saying but in general, it would be nice to have a change, whether it be settlers ousting you or settlers dying off... Some sort of change where one can then raze the settlement if they choose to.

I did mention in my findings that sometimes the charts just disappear without doing anything. I would say on the order of about 1 in 3. 1 in 3 doesn't mean every third one, one could have six in a row fail, but over 100 charts still average 1-3.

Are all your charts disappearing?

Also when a chart disappears without doing anything, just reload the save, and the chart will be back in your inventory.

I got my settlement to S-class. It has three markets and two landing pads. I got a construction opportunity that was either a landing pad or a market. I don't want anymore landing pads or markets. So I decided to stop making anymore decisions on my settlement. Mine is a good size, looks nice, requires zero maintenance, remains stable at S-class and earns 100,000 units a day. I check it every once in awhile.

If HG adds more content or improvements to settlements down the road, I'll be happy to reassess my plan, but right now, it's just right. : )

Very nice! Do you still get sentinel attacks?

I started with Vikeen on a Terrable Ice Storm planet - so I left & started on a Gek planet with Heat Storms, so I "Shopped" around & find a "Paradise Moon", in the 14th, Galaxy - Ontiniangp , close to the Core & I had No transition Problems, what so ever.....Ps. my Settlement is on S-Class as well.........

My status has shown Sentinel attack risk at 100% for several weeks now, but no attacks have happened. It's like once I stopped making decisions, my settlement went into suspension. I love it!
