Performance/FPS tips! RX570 4GB users this is for you!
First of all i want to say i am writing this because i love NMS and i had tons of problems with this game on my system. I think maybe i restarted this game about 50 times to be sure what exactly causes FPS issues because sometimes i had good FPS but sometimes terrible. I really love this game and maybe there is a chance i will help someone else too!

From terrible performance i was experienced before now i am playing this game on ULTRA settings with 1440p resolution and stable 30FPS. For those who want more FPS you probly can simply change resolution. So let's begin this journey!

First of all you should know few things:
1. While playing avoid exiting to desktop with any means necessary. Exitting to desktop will make game unplayable - believe me.
2. You should make all your changes in graphical and display settings and restart the game. Making changes and playing game will make game unplayable - believe me again.
3. You should keep your VRAM usage not more than 5GB (max enchanced textures and standart reflections). Everything else you can max out to Ultra. Basicly you can't fit 1440p resolution and 4GB textures with Ultra settings into 4GB. But don't worry 5 will be fine.
4. Changing NumThreadsLow and NumThreadsHigh to 4 in TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS won't help you - believe me. But you can change those options if you wish. Moreover there will be one setting you will have to change anyway and exactly this thing will change the world - but about this later...

So - let's begin...
0. Install Windows 11 (if you can). It will really help you a lott in gaming (not only NMS)!
1. Make quick setup in your radeon software to STANDARD. In this mode driver options like VSYNC, CHILL, SHARPENING, and other things will be disabled and they should be disabled! Basicly all settings must be default and relly only on Application.
2. If you have already Windows 11 in display settings find advanced display settings and change from 59.94Hz to 60Hz. Windows 10 users ignore this because W11 is really rellying on VSYNC and Hz! This is basicly main thing you should know about gaming on Windows 11.
3. Make your desired graphical settings ingame and set FPS to 30 if you planing to play on 1440p. If you are planing to play on 1080p and you think mmmmm i will set to 60FPS you can foget about that. RX570 won't handle it on Ultra. After setting your options exit the game. As i said above - i recommend to set textures to ENCHANCED, reflections to STANDART, maybe GTO to HIGH or less but not ULTRA, everything else you can max out...
4. In TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS you should change only 2 things! First you should set maximums FPS to less than you set ingame. This is 25 for me. And believe me again - it will run more than 25 FPS in the end. Just set this in configuration file, save file, make file ReadOnly and that's it! Oh yes forgot one thing: FullScreen value=true but Borderless value=false. That's it!

Basicly setting 25 FPS ingame is impossible without editing this config file but this is only thing that affects game performance and stuttering. This is because caches, vertical synchronization, buffers and tons of things i won't explain you as a developer. In the end you will get just smooth frames it does not mean you are down with 25 FPS - OK? :)
Oh yes - don't switch or exit to desktop, this is second important thing! Probably VRAM shortage on 4GB cards making this game crazy.

I hope this wil help users with lowend system like mine. It should!
As i said i had tons of issues but now i am happy NMS player!
Thanks.

Windows 11 users may experience "auto exitting to desktop" while playing. At least for the newest AMD drivers there is souch a problem. This is caused by only one thing and this garbage is called Windows Widgets. Simply saying gadgets! Just terminate that Widget/Gadget process in task manager and restart the game.
