CONTEXTUAL BASE PARTS
Structural base parts such as walls, windows and arches will now intelligently select an appropriate variation – foundation, mid or top – for their position within a structure, making it quick and easy to construct aesthetically pleasing and highly varied bases.
It means I can ignore them. Its only practical early game if I'm using my pet as a conveyance. I'm not sure if the pet takes any damage from these attacks.
Pets do not take damage. If your pet has more aggressive traits, it will attack and kill the wildlife with it attacks you
However, if your base is on/near the ground, predators can attack you right through the walls/floors. I find that kinda annoying.
