Can I recover my Body?

Long story short... I died. It was actually my first death... so I had no idea what to expect; but it simply re-spawned and kept going. Afterwards... I found my ship.... summoned my Freighter... did some repairs... took a couple of breaks (logging in and out)... and then eventually realizing I had lost the stuff i was carrying (doh!)... specifically about 20 Ion Batteries and close to 100 Life Support Gels. So after reading up on 'what happens when you die', I returned to the planet in which I died, hoping to find my body. There are no signs, waypoints, icons, etc... so I'm wondering if there is a way to find my body... or if it despawns after a time. That's a ton of resources to replace... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed :).

You can find your own grave, sure, but your body not so much... fortunately some kind soul buried all your stuff in a floating plastic rhombus, so it'll be pretty easy to spot. I don't know if the marker will still be on your HUD after all the logging you've done, but as long as you remember where you died it'll be there.

If you die in Normal or Survival mode, you should be able to recover your allowed inventory from a grave at the site where you died. In survival, you lose everything in your main suit. Typically, you re-animated where your ship was last...and that should be close to the death site.

In some cases, it may not be possible to recover the grave. Falling through the floor of the freighter places the grave in the middle of the superstructure so there is no way to get to it.

If you die twice in a row, your "grave" is from the last time, so it will be empty.

Pretty much everything can be easily replaced if you miss out. Not sure why you are using Life Support Gels when Oxy is easier to store...but your call.

Great... I have no idea where I died... only the planet on which I died. I just reset the Atlas, and got dumped on a Toxic planet... with busted gear... and then I panicked :(. So No Clue... at All where on the planet I went down. And the marker definitely isn't there any longer :(.

Who knows... if I find the right kind of planet in this system to build my new home; then I may one day stumble upon it, and that will be a nice little gift. Well... assuming, of course, I don't Panic and Die again... LOL!!!

LOL - Just Kidding :). I do it purely for the Immersion; the Gels look more Official :).
