yep no expedition rewards can be earned once the event ends
there is a way to get the items by editing a file there's instruction on how to do it here on steam and on reddit
https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Edit:
But in case you want to do it this is what you have to paste in (do not duplicate lines that are already there)

and it goes in this PC > (C) > Steam > steamapps > common > no man's sky > binaries > settings and it's all the way down... you will probably see the first and last line there
Cheap marketing ploy. Create a "fear of missing out".
I agree, time locking content is a bad idea and have typed their Zendesk about it already.

I did not make it for expeditions 1 , although i was not far from the rewards.
Luckily i succeed in Expeditions 2
Don't have the motivation to do again expedition 1 (did it twice), if it was possible :-)
So what, the next expeditions will bring other special items. AND who's to say that they won't add ways to earn those items in the future.
Why is no one happy with that they have, only always wanting the things they don't?
The Star ship is meh.. Anyway. I scrapped mine and used the materials to beef up the better looking ship.
some games like Monster Hunter world did this with their event quests and while it wasn't favored by the community, it was tolerable, or modded so all events are always up on the client side.
Work took a toll on me, and I missed out (sucks to be me). I have only started playing stuff again to some degree. But, I have heard rumors that expeditions were planned to rotate. There seems to be complications with the 3rd expedition, and so it has been delayed. I would like to play the other two, or at least the first one sometime soon in the future. The second expedition and it's reward may not be a possibility. They could swap out the Normandy, and they probably would have to because EA probably doesn't like outsiders getting handsy with their copyrights. This is rumored to be the reason why EX 2 was so short, and perhaps why we are not seeing a rotation yet.
I feel uncomfortable seeing the Normandy in this game, if any anomaly should be removed it should be that one. I do not like the feelings that the idea of EA getting their claws around Hello Games conjures. If they had ever made the mistake of merging with the abomination that is Electronic arts, I guess I would feel the level of betrayal people who pre-ordered this game did. And we all know what happens to franchises under EA.
If NMS was an EA title, it is likely it's story would have been significantly different than it is now, and there would be no redemption ark.
Do people not even read information about the Expeditions? And only come to bizarre conclusions based on incorrect information?
That being said, the content in the expedition is cosmetic only, so there is no real fear of missing out.
Which shouldn't even be a real thing, but somehow is.
Also, the expeditions were interesting, and no one can be upset at Hello Games for doing them. Period.
Money is a very functional language of the present world we live in. That said, nothing is ever truly free. Sometimes we don't see the strings that are attached until it is too late.
Other than that, yes, I concur with the above statement. It has been a strong rumor that expeditions are supposed to start cycling and recycling. And this rumor has been around for a while, My guess is technical hiccups. And hopefully it is no more than that.
Still, even if I did get the Normandy, as much as I like the first 2 mass effects, and perhaps a chunk of the third minus the ending, I still feel a sense of wrongness seeing EA property in this game.
That is just me though. What's that you say? Andromeda? What's that? Some kind of unpleasant skin disease?
