Best Mods in 2021 ?
Hey all. I'm late to the party , obviously. So I'm loving NMS . I've logged fifty hours in my first week ( and I have a full time job and a second hobby ) I can tell I'm going to be playing awhile, so I figure I should probably install a few mods , or at least see what's out there.

So here I am asking the Steam Forums for their infinite wisdom. What are the best working mods in 2021? Where can I find the modding community? is there anything specific I need to be aware of when modding NMS specifically?

I'm mostly looking at quality of life mods , but I'd be willing to look at anything interesting.

Thanks in advance .

here you go

https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky

I can't really speak on the latest/greatest mods, but if you hit the "Updated" tab, it will list all of the most recently updated mods.

If you like building get UCLI-EA and Kibbles & bits you will have to merge them with amumms it's a bit of trouble meaning not as easy as drop in and play but well worth it it will add well over a thousand building pieces to the vanilla menu, your jaw will literally drop

Edit: this is "one" of the pieces... yes the frigate is. Only one of these mods adds over 1200 building parts to the bland vanilla menu

Check out my screenshots in my profile to have an idea of what's in those mods

Hi,
That's why i am reluctant to install those mods .. i hope Hello Games get ideas from the mods and improve NMS

So far the ones I'm using are updated in a day or two sometimes EUCLI-EA updates his mod faster than the game does lol. He puts in a lot of new stuff, the frigates and some other cool pieces have just been added

I think they may do, since I over the years have used several mods that are now part of the main game; at least the purpose of what the mods did can now be found in game. So it may very well be possible that HG is watching the mods community.

The only mods I install are to suppress annoyances:
No asteroids
No HUD messages

Mods are extremely lackluster. They do not add more content. There are a few QoL mods that may be worth grabbing, however there are none I'd consider a must have. And I got nothing to say about cheat mods other than to play creative mode instead.

At this point, mods are more of an annoyance than relief.

Still -- unlike, say, Elder Scrolls or Fallout modding, updating NMS mods is super easy -- barely an inconvenience.

Your definition of content must be extremely narrow. I don't bother anyone that says they dislike mods in general, but to say they don't add content is pretty bold.

Yeah, thanks to MonkeyMan, Wbertro, and others, we can get a good number of mods back online pretty quickly.

Lessee, nexusmods, no man sky, list popular mods of 30 days.

The only mod that is remotely close to "content" is Dud's Sky - Terra Firma, which changes the way terrain is generated and may provide a richer experience.

The rest do not add anything meaningful to the NMS experience. Faster refineries? Faster ships? Recolors? Please. I want a richer, not cheaper experience.

You must have missed Redmas' "NMS Fantasy Origins" collection, then.

Not updated yet for Prisms, he's rebuilding it from the ground up. This is the modder whose mods have been incorporated into the actual game by Hello Games in the past.

Aye, that will do, that will do. Seems it somehow slipped under my radar. I'll be keeping an eye on it for sure.

I used it for quite a while, over several title updates, too. This is the first time he's decided to rebuild the whole collection from scratch. More details in the first few comments, after the stickied comments, about why it's taking so long. I'm patient, because Redmas has a track record.

"They do not add more content." .....WHAT!!

Only one of the mods I'm using adds 1277 building parts to the bland vanilla menu, if you hate mods just say so and keep your lies
