Still Can't Find Armorer on Stations
Got the quest to build weapons station. Built it. Got quest to find Armorer. I've been to 12 different stations, 9 of them Vy'keen. Every single one of them has an exocraft specialist. Not a single one has an Armorer.

How many systems am I going to have to warp to until I find a freaking armorer to hire?

The quest says there's one on my starting system station, but clearly there isn't one. Just an exocraft specialist... whom I can't hire yet because I don't have that schematic yet.

I'm starting to get a little frustrated here.

On the plus side, I'm getting to the point where I can't afford to pay for the upgrades to my exo-suit.

6 more systems and I still haven't found an armorer. There is, suspiciously, an exocraft technician at every single station still.

Can I get the exocraft station blueprint on the anomaly? Then build it and hire him? Will that have the game start spawning armorers?

You have to talk to every single one of them mine was a flag bearer

also be sure to look on both sides of the station... i've found some on the right as you fly in and others on the left in the back room...

what i'm running into, now, is that i have all of them and still run into those looking for a job... i'm just not sure what happens if i hire a new one with only one base... does the existing one get replaced? do they get mad about that? should i add their work tables to one of my other bases and hire more or will the same ones work both bases?

i'm still learning after some 300 hours or so

Not sure if this was intentional or just incomplete programming, but I have used this ability to change the NPC at the station. I think some players like specific NPC characteristics and will switch by hiring a new one. I did this for my Armorer, I wanted on with the biggest horns I could find.

hahaha! i hadn't thought about that... cool! :)

Yeah... I've been talking to every single npc on the stations. Still learning the languages too.

In that back room off to the side, there is always a Vy'Keen exocraft tech and a gek base operator. Occasionally I've found the botanist wandering around.

I've also been checking trade outposts on the planets. I've found a gek botanist on one of those in a gek system. That's it so far.

I'm at the point where I"m just going to start over. I'm pretty sure this isn't supposed to happen.

After I verify my files and do all the other stuff one should do.

You should just be able to have to quest selected in your log and you should be lead directly to the NPC you need to talk to.

Yep. And if the quest is bugged, you can reset it with the middle mouse button/scroll thingy.

I was having this problem and noticed that no one had the answer so now that I know the problem, I thought I would share the solution here. When you get the quest, you will get 2 quests for the same mission and the one that will be selected in the log is named "Expanding the Base" just change that mission to the one named "Weapons Research" and give it a second to activate and there you go, it will lead you to where you need to go. Hope this helps :D

Forgot to add that if there isn't one in the system you are in, just go to the Galaxy Map and you will see the system he is marked there.

For me, they have always either been in the space station of the system of my base, or in a system right next door to the one my base is in. No need to wander around the universe.

Go back to your base where you have the armorer station.
In your mission log, select the one for finding the armorer.
Read the message given, usually in the lower right corner of your HUD.
It will either say hire him at the space station, or in a nearby system.
If you need to go to a nearby system, go to the one indicated.
Then fly into the space station.

When you get in the station your are directed to, I think the armorers are usually on the side of the station with the missions, guilds and maps desks.

it should be noted, too, that there's an icon provided on the galaxy map and the HUD for these missions... that's how you know where to go...

definitely be sure the mission is selected in the Log tab, too... then give it a minute or so to update things as needed...

i've found the guys on both sides of the space stations, too... the one the mission is for will have an icon over his head... that's how you know that's the one to get...
