Is this a complete game
I read in the reviews that it has tons of updates so is the price I pay on steam the complete game, spaceships, mechsuits, and all or is more paid DLC needed?

There is no paid DLC at all. Everything is included.

Including any and all future updates.

You can wait for a sale- usually about 50% off- but all updates are free. For those of us who started at release, it is a pretty sweat deal. It may be a little overwhelming if you are new...there are tons of extras to do. The main game is exploring, but a good 100 to 200 hours of just missions and stuff they added...assuming you don't like the exploring.

Not even close and never will be. Still a broken mess after five years of "updates". They really don't know what to do with this game and instead just throw in random half-cooked features and see what sticks.

Hello Games has bucked the industry standard of hiding everything being paid DLCs. All expansions and updates have all been free with the base game. Just shows you how much most companies lie about needing to fill games with microtransactions and paid dlc, usually from day one now, to turn a profit.

Yes, but those other companies have huge staffs and SHARE HOLDERS. That means money makes the decisions.

Some may, but they aren't honest about it, which isn't a shock. Instead of just releasing more paid crap, and being "yep, we are doing this to increase profits even more" they try to hide behind claiming they need to do so or go under, which is an absolute lie they've been trying to sell for years now. That's how we've ended up with standard day one DLC just being accepted now. It's mental.

I'd be happy to pay for DLC that was actual story content, but still nothing.

I think by about the second or third free major update the game was roughly what it ought to have been at launch. People would probably still have grumbled, but I think that's a fair match between hype and release quality. But now there is new stuff being added for free that was never promised in the first place. Are they ever gonna add the bit(s) that would finally appease the world's robovaders? Maybe never. But maybe sometime. Dunno. The general consensus is that Hello Games have more or less redeemed themselves, and they're still going, still adding new stuff, so there's less and less to complain about. Except when they add something new that breaks something older, and that's just a fact of life of modern gaming I'm afraid.

It's everything.

Even though they could have easily justified making a lot of this paid DLC, they didn't.

They should start soon though, so we can see bigger and more come to No Man's Sky with that new influx of cash. :)
