Found Paraffinium deposits on planet, but they don't seem to exist
Feel really confused. I have found several Paraffinium locations on a planet I'm on, but when I check them out, there's nothing there. I've tried my terrain manipulator on the ground and get no resources. A bit lost here. Advice?

*edit: after investigating several deposits, I actually found one that existed and could extract resources. Possible bug maybe? I don't know.

Its the way the game generates the nodes and its not just parafinium that it happens with. If you scan and find a node and when you arrive it shows as dirt colored just move on because all you are going to get is silica sand. The nodes that actually contain the mineral you are looking for are fairly brightly colored. Even parafinium looks like a shiny metallic grey, sort of like hematite.

Thanks for that info, good to know for next time.

Like you I have found several non-existent resource deposits despite scan and visor indicates one. I hypothesize that somehow cave, natural feature, or structure generation (or other things) interferes with deposit spawning. Maybe those things have higher spawn "priorities", thus overwriting deposits.
