"Refine condensed carbon for antimatter"

That is the current game instruction. It wants me to refine condensed carbon into antimatter apparently, uit whenever I put condensed carbon into the refiner, it just turns it back into carbon. So how do I ACTUALLY create antimatter?

craftable components are created by clicking in an empty slot of your inventory

First, have you got the Antimatter blueprint. You can't create Antimatter without it.
Do as Scaramouche says and see if you can craft it. If you can then you will need:
25 x Chromatic Metal + 20 x Condensed Carbon = 1 x Antimatter
You can refine condensed carbon from carbon using a Portable Refiner...
2 x Carbon = 1 x Condensed Carbon
Note: Crafting is different from Refining. You can't refine Antimatter, only craft it.

You cant make antimatter with a refiner but, If your goal is to craft warp cells, there's a big refiner recipe to efficiently (aka less cost) make warp cells from base materials.

Yeah I actually figured it out, it was the wording that made me think I had to make it in the refiner and not my inv. Thanks for the responses.

Aye, it can read as "put condensed carbon into refiner to make antimater", rather than "use refiner to make condensed carbon for making antimater". English is not the most intuitive language ever.

No it says refine condensed carbon..... for antimatter.
NOT refine condensed carbon INTO antimatter.

You need to make condensed carbon in order to make antimatter.
