How do we delete base parts now?

How do we delete base parts now? can't seem to find a way.

It's actually really annoying now. Because the menu is in the way you can't just ctrl X it anymore.

I am having the same issue with wiring. I can place it but cant delete it. I just returned to the game but I am about to walk away till this gets fixed. In general I like the new menu interface but not when it comes to building. I am now 30 minutes into trying to figure out how to delete a wiring connection on any device.

Z and C gets you into delete mode, then whatever you hover over can be deleted with X, similar to how it was before, only they don't turn red when you select them, though there's a different effect now that's hard to see on wiring.

I like the fact that build menu provides the list of commands on screen now....so you don't have to memorize any. It is different now, and we have to learn the new interface before it will feel comfortable.

you can also switch while in Wiring mode with Q and use the B key to enter Deletion mode.

Thanks. That is going to take some getting used to!
You have to press those keys while not pointing at anything then move over the device you wish to delete. I managed to copy one item and delete an unintended target but I got it finally. Thanks again.

It's irrelevant where you're pointing until you press X, which is the actual "Delete" button. I've done it dozens of times by now, it works just like the old UI: same number of clicks, same "deletes what you're pointing at" behavior.
