With the new starting ship and it being fancier and what not. And having it's own special upgrades.
That seems really cool.
If it was 666 minutes it would be less random.
But, I am sorry to inform you that if you think that you have bought a copy of NMS using Steam, you are dead wrong. You have never bought a copy of the game, instead, you have bought the right to play the game, that is totally another and different thing.
I have some doubts about the right you are talking about, but even if you, me and anyone other that has bought the right to play the game have these rights, good luck to have them fulfilled.
Absolutely, but again you haven't bought any video game using Steam, you have just bought the right to play them, and this right is subject to a contract that has a lot of clauses, have you read all of them? Are you sure that there is a clause that assure you that the video game is without any bug and it has to be enjoyable?
I am pretty confident that there are a lot of video games that don't kill any PC, even a much cheaper one... ...maybe it's probable that they aren't your cup of tea...
Did you get the golden case on your computer at that point? With literal gold?
No game can kill a PC. Even the Lost Ark drama "journalists" said it killed 3090s is fud. The 3090 were poorly built. https://www.techpowerup.com/286260/evga-reveals-that-bad-soldering-was-the-culprit-behind-bricked-rtx-3090-cards
...Trust me I haven't any golden case or anything other fancy in my RIG... ...just a decent CPU, an entry level (decent brand) MOBO, 4TB of Gen3 M.2 (good brand), 14TB of HD (very good brand), 64GB of DDR4 @3200 (CAS 14) (very good brand)...
I really need to update my computer. I don't know how much a 14 TB hard drive costs. Last time I got an upgrade, it was to a 1 TB SSD and it was a little bit of money. But that was many years ago now.
...And about the 64GB RAM the CAS14 feature, other than being certified RAM modules for your MOBO, is really expensive... ...and I know is one of the two things that I have given up and bought even if you can find similar products at a really cheaper price, the other one is the CPU... ...but 16 core/32 threads are expensive nowadays...
(...it isn't a threadripper..., ...neither an epyc)
CPU around 500€ or nonsense if not for business or scientific work or it is for the sake of having a heavy one, especially when you know games are mostly multiplatform badly ported to PC. Motherboard ~300€. GPU from 600 to 1000 or overkill if it's not for 4K which will not be able to get more than 60FPS so...well :D. SSDs around 200€ each let's say x3 ? 1x14TB for backup 400€. 64Go of RAM is a too much right now if you don't plan to do Ramdisks so if you don't do business with photoshop 16Gb is enough. Let's say 3k2 max. You won't buy a monitor for 1500€+, right ? 3k€-3k5€ would make a really powerfull machine, with mouse+keyboard+display+controller added.
No one actually physically owns games that they buy online.
THat's not a thing.
You own a license to play them.
THis has been a thing for years.
It's why Steam is legally allowed to close a person's account completely. And terminate all access to their games.
THey'e done maybe 5 times in total. But they can legally do it.
Basically, you have never owned a game. Except for physical media only.
C. Termination by Valve
Valve may cancel your Account or any particular Subscription(s) at any time in the event that (a) Valve ceases providing such Subscriptions to similarly situated Subscribers generally, or (b) you breach any terms of this Agreement (including any Subscription Terms or Rules of Use). In the event that your Account or a particular Subscription is terminated or cancelled by Valve for a violation of this Agreement or improper or illegal activity, no refund, including of any Subscription fees or of any unused funds in your Steam Wallet, will be granted.

Yep exactly.
I'm really not sure why people think we can own games any more. Except for physical media.
