For a picture of marsh world, you need to be looking for something like this:

These type of big trees can only be found on marsh planets, if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, when I landed on the moon it gave quest credit for finding the planet and those trees are everywhere.

I did have trouble with a marsh world assignment. I had already scanned it from space before accepting the mission. I was not getting an icon and taking a photo on the obvious choice in system did not clear it. I just abandoned it. Had the same problem with volcano world photos and abandoned those as well.
It may be bugged, or just requires very specific course of events. I have done several successful photo missions, but have made it a habit to check in the station first before doing any planet scanning.
