Not sure if your ships hud may have a blip for it nowadays, but you will not be lost somewhere in the galaxy after passing through one if you make sure you landed on the spacestation of the system you want to return to beforehand. That way you just teleport back to it afterwards.
Regardless, once you have unlocked the ability to see them on the G map, they are really obvious because of the big star icon next to the system.
If Polo marked a Black Hole for you at some point, it would be visible nearby on the Galaxy Map wherever you were when you first asked him. If you've moved away from that region in the meantime, it may no longer be visible to you. Go back where you had been and call up the map again. No need to plot a path to it. Should be visible within a couple hundred ly.
