How can I decrease the sentinel alert level?
It's got to 40% and rising and now it's starting to worry me.
Thanks in advance!

Hide somewhere out of the line of sight.

Boarding ship and flying around inside planet atmosphere starts countdown usually. Sometimes i will just fly in a slow circle until they calm down.
Is obliterating them a viable option?

Just take them out - there's only 6 of them and they hover around the settlement hub :)
ty for the help, will have fun obliterating them

I assume you are talking about sentinel alert levels in a settlement?

If so, then you can't decrease them. They just keep in rising until they reach 100%. At that point 6 corrupt sentinels will spawn and attack the hub of the settlement. If you attack them they shift focus and attack you.

Thus far its always been 6 sentinels. I've always killed them quickly. I've no idea if I left them alone, if they would damage the settlement in any way.

There are some settlement decisions that say they decrease sentinel alert levels. I've never noticed any effect from that. Perhaps it slows the advancement of the alert level?

Wait... did you talk about the settlement snetinels? That's a whole other thing than the common sentinels, they follow another mechanic.

As far as i understand, the settlement sentinels are meant to attack the settlement every now and then, so you can't decrease their alert level. You need to fight them.
I think from what I have encountered, if you do not defeat them quickly the population can decrease by a percent or two. Something more to check out and save those NPCs. Once the Alert has reached 100 percent you should get a message about the attack.

I found a new settlement on an extreme volcanic fire planet and was curious to know if we could have more than one. I got the message 'Settlement Request Denied: Insufficient battle experience'. No idea really what that is all about. I guess with Frontiers updates we'll find out. :D

They are rare, but I have seen some "decisions" that reduce the threat of sentinel attack on your settlement. I never took them because the other choice was better and the sentinel attacks are pretty easy and I have never lost a settler.

Yeah, the sentinel attacks are pretty easy. They're just corrupt sentinels and only 6. If you look at the NMS page for the Frontiers update, the images there made it look like you would be dealing with a lot more while defending a settlement.
