Nanite Farming? Is there a faster way?
Heyo!

So I'm currently trying to get huge amounts of Nanites to upgrade everything and start trying to max my upgrade modules. Currently my farming system is as follows:

I have ten Bio-Domes of Gamma Weed that I collect regularly and refine into Sievert Beans via the Nutrient Processor. I turn 3/4 of those Beans into Steamed Vegetables. Using a third of the Veggies and the remaining Beans I make Fibrous Stew, and the remaining 2/3rds of the Veggies become Flavorsome Sauce. Combining the Stew and Sauce makes Delicious Vegetable Stew. I usually get about Five Hundred or so from one Harvest (although I only refine about half for reasons I'll explain). I then go to the Space Anomaly and sell all the Soup to Cronus. I average 94.39 Nanites/Soup.

My question is, is there a better way to farm Nanites? Because you can only sell one soup at a time to Cronus, it takes about two hours to sell everything to him, and that's with only a few frames on the menus. The rest is him talking and me spamming left click to speed up the dialogue. I don't really have the time to just sit spamming E, Left Click, and 1 for several hours. It's why I only refine half my Gamma Weed.

If anyone has a better solution, I'd love to hear it!

Thanks so much!

I do a similar thing with Herb-Encrusted Flesh, but the turn in process is bonkers if you don't use a mod. and I refuse to use a mod. So, I was able to at least make it semi-mindless but hooking up a controller and using button presses.

If it still works just farm larval cores. They refine into 50 nanites each, or they used to. That could be ~1000 nanites/abandoned building. Find a couple and place a BC there. Of course I haven't done that in awhile...

Not sure how many nanites you are after, but runaway mould farming nets me about 24k an hour. And there's no limits, so you can do it 24/7 if you desire to.

You can get tanted metal and living slime from derilict freighters. Then refine that into nanites.

The best way us to find a large curious deposit that give runaway mold and refine that. You can make nanites stupid fast thus way.

Salvaging ships is probably the fastest way now since they did away with the walker brain method. My favorite way is to just hop in an exocraft on a dead planet and harvest larva eggs from the wild. Hop out, grab the egg then hop back in before you get attacked. On to the next one. Can rack up nanites fast.

I found a big curious deposit and now I have endless nanites. The trick is finding a curious deposit. I laughed when I saw all the steps to your current process.

It would be nice if runaway mould farm can be automated

You can improve the speed of your 'food' technique. Just create Fibrous Stew which sells at an average of 72.4 Nanites/Stew
1 x Tainted Metal = 2 x Nanites
If you get a ton of tainted metal it takes a while to get and refine though

It may not be this fast but maybe more interesting:
You can get 1500-3000 nanites by scanning all of the fauna of a planet.
On easy planets that doesn't even take 10 minutes. On hard ones, well that will be longer.
But just hop around scan the fauna. This way you can also make a butload of nanites

If you're still upgrading ships capacity scrapping ships will also get you all the Storage Augmentation you need.

Yesterday I upgraded a 21x7 B Class Fighter all the way to 48+21 S Class in about 4 hours.

Go to a High Wealth, Low Conflict system and stand in the Space Station look for B, A, or S class ships that are worth ~2 million units;
Buy the ship, destroy any upgrades inside for some extra bits, then scrap the ship.

I averaged 1-4 Ship Upgrade Modules which can be sold at the Upgrade Vendors for Nanites, but the added bonus is you'll get a good chance at the Storage Augmentations, too which will massively offset the unit cost of that aspect of ship upgrades.

You also then have all the random trade goods that come out of ships you can sell to get most the money you spent buying the ship.

I think I started with roughly 83 million units, and ended up with about 64 million. If I'd taken the parts to their correct systems for selling it'd probably have been closer to even.

Here what you do.. go get 5 stacks of runaway mold, then with 5 refiners.. refine them one right after the other.. ie start refiner 1 then start refiner 2 ..ect . With 5 refiners running a stack of 9999 runaway mold, you get 10000 nanites in about 20-25 mins. if you want 20000 nanites .. that would be 10 stacks with 10 refiners.. you do the math :steamhappy:

If and when you find a planet with curious deposits, 10 to 1 somebody will already have a base there. Places a base out of range and go nuts. After you collect your curious deposits.. go about 1000 u away , turn around and come back.. they will instantly respawn.

this is how i get me nanites.. there are other ways as people here has show. Pick the best that works for you.:steamhappy:

Happy Hunting :steamhappy:
Not in survival. Limited to 250 per refiner

You can still buy pugneum and refine it but i think it's faster to head for a planet, scan all the animals and claim the reward...
