Toggle the timber/stone walls
Hi is there someone who found a way to toggle the walls. When i stack 3 walls they all are different (new build pieces)

Its not good looking for the base im building now. So i was wondering if someone found a toggle or a workaround so i can place 3 walls ontop of each other without them looking different

I don't think that's possible unfortunately. With stone walls and such it seems intended, though the timber wall textures become super strange, which seems like a bug that needs fixing.

I noticed the same thing happens with Alloy walls too. I only built two-walls high so it doesn't look bad, but if i went 3, it would.

I found a little workaround but it has been a patch or two since I played so I'm not sure if it still works. If you place the short wall between your normal walls, it prevents them from going into ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mode.

I haven't fully tested this out to see if it is consistent but I thought I'd throw it in here anyways, maybe someone can experiment and make some use of it.

I had good luck by mixing and matching different material types. It still changes but looks better than just using a solo material.

This is one of the reasons I have lost interest in base building. With the old parts you get what you see. The part you select is what will be built. The new parts... well.... you get what the game decides to give you.

This is absolutely bizarre to me. I hope they change it, and I hope I never see it again in any other game with building.

Want a large window upstairs in your build? No! you have one downstairs. You don't get to have large windows upstairs, so we are changing the part you selected! Be satisfied with what we give you!

I just tried this, and it didn't work for me.

This has been 1 of the things I HATE about these new parts. Makes no sense at-all to me why they would do this, why not simply have the 2 models as entirely separate pieces you can CHOOSE to use (or not) as separate pieces?

yeah i was never a huge fan of the older base parts so i was really happy that they added new structures. But nope its a pain in the butt to build stuff now, they also dont match with the old structures, so you cant mix and match aswell. I hope so that they change it or that someone finds another way to be able to build

It's truly stupid. I have a 2 block tall timber house with a stone foundation, the stone walls make the 1st floor walls totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥,
(it's very very hard for me to believe it's not a bug, why the hell would the top half of the texture just become horizontal lines WITH HOLES BETWEEN THEM???)
and in order to keep the 2nd floor walls sort of intact, i had to place the walls in such ways, that the house now looks like a painting from the era of cubism. It's horrible, and I lost interest in continuing the build as well. Really sad, as that was my end-game.....

Please put in a feature suggestion at the HG zendesk. I did the other day. I agree that the parts should be separate.

You might also have noticed that the corner roof pieces are not symmetric. It's like we need a left and a right but only have one to choose from. Looks odd to me.
