If I leave a wrecked freighter to save my game, will it still be there when I come back?
My computer likes to crash without warning at random sometimes, and I was exploring one for like a half hour last night and lost my progress. And I'm pretty sure you can't place save beacons on wrecked freighters.

If we're talking about the mini-dungeon space encounter, then no.
It will de-spawn.

I am assuming you are talking about the derelict freighters that you can land on in space.
Last I checked it will despawn as soon as you leave the vicinity if not as soon as you take off. Though this was not true with a scripted one in the previous expedition, so there may be other exceptions as well.

OK let me clarify. I used an emergency broadcast receiver, and I plan to fly just far enough away that I can summon my freighter to save the game.

You can't save until you finish a derelict...or give up and leave. It goes away when you leave.

You might ask in the Technical Support Sub-Forum for some help with the crashing problem. That is not a good thing. Hopefully the experts that hang around there will see your message. They may be playing the game.

They will need your computer specs and exactly what happens when it crashes. For example, can you still hear the game in the background or BSOD. They will also ask for the error file that gets generated when a rig crashes.

I would bet that it would despawn, since from my knowledge that would be the intended mechanic. Though depending on your view of such a tool there is an inventory editor that you could use to give you another emergency broadcast receiver if you want to experiment. Last I checked the use of such a tool wasn't against the EULA for the game. I am sure someone will correct me if I am mistaken.

It goes away, as said above. FYI, if you have to leave one, don't actually leave. Just shut it down so that the game goes to your last save. That way, you won't lose your 5 mil unit beacon either.

Oh it's not a game issue, it's just my stupid computer. It's been like this for probably years, and I don't have the money or patience to get it repaired.

I've got like five of them because I don't feel like doing one every week.

what? They're free...

One per week is free.

Which makes paying 5 mil just for one completely absurd, even when I've progressed enough that I can craft fusion ignitors at whim,

Or you can spend anywhere from 5-10 mil units for one.

Unless you're filling out your freigher storage, or farming freighter tech modules, and don't want to wait months.

To each his own. Many have billions of units in their account and don't care what others think.

They aren't really free once a week.
I had to pay 5 million for my first one after coming back to the game after the Frontiers update, and it had been quite a few months since the last time I could buy it. For 5 million that time.

Free in the anomaly once a week. The vendor never gives them out free.
davidb11 Sep 15, 2021 @ 2:45pm
Oh. Okay. See, I don't remember the guy in the anomaly.
