I got an Oculus Quest 2, two days ago.
My specs are good enough i think to run vr game correctly ( rtx 2060, i5 9600K, 16gb of ram ...)
I have no problem when I use Oculus Link in game, expect on one, where i can't reset my position without finish in the floor. But no problems on the perf for the moment.
But for nms it's different, I can sometime play it a little bit and after few second or minute ( if I'm lucky ), I saw big stuttering, purple thing on the vr graphic ( sometime he's fully red ).
I start to look video where people say, that they found THE solution ! And reproduce what they did ( lower graphic etc)
Today, as I got a Quest 2 and a good connection.
I decided to connect with ALVR my Quest 2 to my computer.
I try few games, who worked as good as in Link (just the quality was a bit lower, didn't research for the best quality yet ) and the big suprise is that even nms work fine !
I first thought it was because I changed graphics yesterday, so after a couple of minute of playing the game in wifi ( with no issue ).
I finaly decided to use link for play nms and see if there were a big difference of compression between wifi and link.
But, again same problem stuttering, vr graphic fully red.
So ! I start to thought that maybe it's not steam vr or my computer that have a problem with nms.
But the Oculus software. Without personally, the game works fine and with I have issues.
Don't know if with the Rift S you have the same software as Quest 2 but if you have the same. For me i can't play nms with this software but it work fine in wifi when i'm using sidequest.
Wrong thread for that. You're gonna have to start one yourself as this is for issues with the Valve Index. Sorry, mate.
The OP talks about VR in general, no mention of any specific headsets.
I have the exact same issue. I was running NMS fine on an Oculus Rift S and decided to "upgrade" to the Valve Index. All of my other games work just fine. I tried changing the settings and opted in for the StreamVR Beta update. No difference.
My system is a Dell XPS 8900 with a GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER video card, 8GB, driver version 460.89, Intel Core i7-6700 CPU with 16GB of memory.
