Custom Markers Disappearing
In the past few days I've found 3 crashed ships that I couldn't immediately take ownership of. I placed a custom marker, went back to my freighter, fixed up the previous crash I had in the hanger and scrapped it.

Went to get the other one and no marker in the entire system!

Very annoying.

Custom markers only stay until you log out.

Not logged out, but have left the system. Maybe that does it as well now?

Custom markers are really good for prospecting and give a range from scanner but to keep something over a play session use the save beacons or drop a base computer even if you hit the save beacon limit.

I recall seeing some instances where they will disappear after placing another. I'm not sure what causes that. I would imagine leaving the system would make them disappear also. maybe even crossing a region. Not certain about that.

Great idea MyProfile. I hadn't even thought of save beacons!

I thought you could only have one custom marker at the same time.

10 40. I only use those things when I'm planning a farm base for gas and minerals and have a base computer down. They are really good for prospecting due to distance restrictions on bases.

That was my last experience with them. Before that I could of sworn I had more than one up but probably not. Still they are great for what they do differently than the save beacons.

Leaving the system is equivalent to logging out of it. Exiting the game is another way. There are a number of transient effects associated with leaving the area of something else that are implemented throughout NMS. Overplanting, for example, is limited to whenever you start to whenever you first leave the base area where you are overplanting.

I've had markers disappear as soon as I leave the site and do a spin in the ship. This week!
About three times its gone in last seven days.

Very very annoying. Made life very annoying I gotta say.
No leaving the system either. AND Their there sometimes when coming back in the system. ot always though.

Well, that sucks... Finally found a level S hot spot, put a marker down, went to get my resources and poof... marker gone... Chances of finding that spot again: 0...

Use a beacon next time.

Why would it be hard to find? If you knew its general direction from your base, you can just run out and grab its scanner signal again. The radius of the scanner is 400 u for the visual indicator and 1200 u for the audio beeping.
