Dioxite Deep-Level Mineral Deposits Rare or Just Unlucky?
Maybe this is just me, but I was having some serious issues finding dioxite for industrial mineral extractors to extract. I hadn't had issues finding any of the other localized earth elements, so I wasn't expecting this. Spend a solid 45 minutes driving around a frozen planet to find one in 22 deep level mineral deposits (I scanned a bunch of others too). It was about 15 in when I found it; it was to the point where I was scanning gas deposits cause I wasn't sure. Just wanted to know if I was unlucky or if their deep level deposit spawnrate is legitimately low in comparison to the other localized earth elements.

unlucky. I found them easily on just about every frost planet I was ever on, even legacy bases which I updated to Beyond all had dioxide. Sometimes silver, but that is more rare. Just remember you have to explore a radius of about 1000 u from your base computer to ensure you log all resources within range of the base. That's pretty far, and you will probably need to use your exocraft with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boosters at max to fully cover the base area while surveying.

I'm on a planet with several Silver Deep Level Deposits, Gas deposits and Electromagnetic. My frustration was, difficulty finding an electromagnetic source. Eventually I found them, one on land and another far out, deep below the ocean floor and they were only B and C class. Still more than enough to finally power my base.

Both I think I went beyond the 1000m range but by simply dropping a battery, at every quick menu build limit I reached, (so I could see where to connect the wires back to base) I increased the base limit to reach them. At the boundary, when the base building menu vanished, I just dropped another battery (or any build object) to extend the perimeter to keep the quick build menu on screen and reach the hotspot.

It was easy hiding wires and pipe lines. I just dug holes where the batteries were. Some batteries I left behind. Others I removed and just joined the wires below ground, retracing my route quickly back to the base... Silly me chose the top of a mountain. :) But now I have no wires showing where I don't want them. Some I like to keep visible though.

I've seen players also build Power Line Pylons and make a cool feature of wires above ground.

Class level for hotspots is almost meaningless as you simply build *a few* more generators or extractors to compensate.

I don't like to bury wires and such, at least without some part of it sticking out because if you ever rewire, you'll never be able to remove all the wire segments without deleting the base. Why? because you won't be able to see them underground unless you dig them out, which is additional and unnecessary work you've just created for yourself. Also you may have placed multiple bends in the wires, making many segments. Simplicity is much better....it's low maintenance.

So for me, even if the hotspot is 1200 u from my base, I only place TWO poles, enough so the wire clears the terrain and has a straight shot from base to hotspot. One pole near the base, one pole near the hotspot....and ONE wire flies between them. No bends.
