ByteBeat: Very disappointing.
I don't want to seem unappreciative, but This is grotesque.
7 possible notes out a 12 note scale, Only one octave per track, no variation in note length, and four bars per machine.
That sucks!
Even by minecraft standards that sucks!

And the drums. OMG! Those are some crappy crappy samples! Are they even trimmed to time?!

I agree, not the type to complain about new unsollicited features but this sequencer is more limited thant what we could find on a 15 years old low budget nokia. I was pretty excited to write some cool star-warsish themes for my bases but if every alteration of a key or change of octave takes one more machine, uuuh. Don't get either how we're supposed to control the note duration. Guess I'll just wire 10 or 20 machines to get a decent interface... per instrument. Sounds like a pita.

Funny for someone who doesn't care you seem to post a lot in all these threads. Does it trigger you that someone has a different opinion?

With 8 machines max, that gives a max length of 32 bars if you only use one voice at a time.

Provided the use of the major scale and no modulation within a box.
Who the hell even wants these stupid sounds in game. What a joke to add this music thing when they is SO much we need to automate our bases or make them less of a chore to actually craft things but we got a stupid noise maker that no1 wanted and its super cringy watching the awefull dances in game. HG remove this stupid sound maker and put more base stuff in.

you can set the scale, but any modulation of it will effect the entire song across machines.
(aside from octave, which only effects one entire machine)

Wow you mean that we can only set one scale at a time for all machines in a base? Would be terrible.

I only tested machines that were linked together
un synched machines could be a different story

waste of resources and time, well, seems that how great agency are working nowadays. in the same time everything you left in the processor is gone... i complain because i play permadeath.

the BB interface is one step closer to programming interface for in-game automation...

plz don't whine :) just keep your fingers crossed for HG to "just do it" and maybe blow our minds :)

Well, the only issue i have is.. that for me.. this looks far to complex.. i have no idea about music stuff... and i dont even know what all those things do. id love to see an in depths tutorial released with it.. else the majority of the player base wont be able to make use of this thing. im sure some music junkies love it and can make cool stuff with it.. but as someone that doesnt know anything about that.. i wouldve loved something easier to use.
give us some instruments and let us music noobs copy our favorite music theme from a youtube tutorial so we can have our pirates of the caribbean soundtrack on our pirateship base or whatever.
And another thing. Were there really that many people that wanted that as they mentioned in the patchnotes? dont get me wrong... more stuff for base building is always nice... but the main thing i hear and read for a while now... is more variety .. more reasons to explore as the game was originally ment to be... and less minecraft in space. I might be wrong on this one... but thats my opinion atleast. im a bit concerned about this development. and i struggle to believe that im the only one?!

Think of the update as that Community Event where you did not even have to show up.

Essentially, this is more swag, just like the QS gifts. Is going to help your game? No. Is even going to enhance your base so you are more productive? No.

Does it look like a cooler than normal QS item...YES.

Not sure how complex it is, but looking forward to playing with it. I know it is fun to grouse about freebies...but it is a freebie.
I *demand* a full fledged DAW with VST support and physical old skool Midi inputs and preamp ;)

lol, a junk box, its all we needed, becuase fk proper fauna or proper space combat, or proper exploration hehhe, basebuilding is where its at.
