No buried technology

I've gone to all around 4 different planets and couldnt find one buried technology using my visor. Anyone else experience this and know how to find them?

Normally I'd question if you were looking for the right thing, or looking correctly, because those things are typically common as all get out.

But I just visited 3 planets in a row where I did some exploration and don't recall seeing a single one....so I guess sometimes it's just bad RNG luck.

Try to find some buildings, like a observatory or something else that has the two cuboid style outbuildings. There's very, very often buried technology right around the outbuildings. My current planet that I'm exploring has almost no buried tech, but every time I've found such a facility there's also been buried tech right there.

And then you use the terraforming tool to dig for it, at which point you should see this and be able to interact with it to get your salvage:

If you're looking for tech modules alot of the time their icon is overlapped by the damaged machinery icon. They seem to spawn together.

Yeah, some "recent" updates messed it up a bit. Also, some common places where it
used to be found (crashed ships) is no longer there, or got difficult to spot.

Make sure you are not running a MOD that might be causing them not to show up.
Almost every broken machine has them as well as settlements without landing pads.
Most crash sites (not interceptors) have them too.

They must have dug it out.
It was just buried.
