Nexus won't let me use it! "Rejects input"...
So, I've been grinding and flying around for about 16 hours in my current game (Normal mode), and I'm at the 'Alone Amongst the Stars' stage. I'm a new player. I have access to summon The Anomaly, obviously, but every time I return to it and go to the Nexus, I can't initialise any missions.

The Nexus just gives me a message about "rejects your input", and says something about not fulfilling a requirement. Have I found a bug, or is my game corrupted in some way? Also, I cant find any more info from any of the Travellers to continue looking for Artemis. Every other blog I read just has the same basic info, which doesn't help me progress.

When I go there in a Creative mode game, I can take on a whole list of missions. Please help, someone!

The nexus is randomly generated missions intended for multiplayer. It has nothing to do with the Artemis Path.

When you enter the Anomaly, have the Anomaly mission tagged in your log. Then follow all the steps the mission tracker tells you in exactly that order, like talk to this person, then to that person etc. Those persons will also have a symbol above their heads. In the end you will be prompted to talk to Nada and then the Nexus will open for you.

Thanks for trying to help. My point was, in Creative I've been able just go up to Nexus right from the start and do any mission, even solo if I want. But with Normal mode, nothing! I was wondering if it had something to do with the 'story' progress.

Thanks I will give this a go. This game is awesome, but you really have to fend for yourself in-game! I guess that's the point. I'd be cactus if I played Permadeath.
