I don´t see my friend at multiplayer mode ?!?
Hi all,

maybe someone had already or know this problem ?!?

So our the problem is, that my brother and I want to player NMS in coop,
therfore one of us starts a game (host) and the other get in the game.
We are on the same planet or space station.

But the issue is that WE DO NOT SEE EACH OTHER.

We could see the base of each other -
even some actions of each other (like you kill a guardian - means you see the )
we get news of each other, BUT it seams like we are living in two "parallel universum"
;-)

Ok, jokes by side, how we can fix this issue.

Thanks for help in Advance...

First, go into your LOGs both of you and check your settings in Network -- Show Icons to other players I think it is -- should be set to friends only or anyone -- you are both on pc, you have each other friended all those things check right? So check on both your games to see that your network settings all say friends only -- except for Can Harm other players - you want that on no one -- cos your brother is gonna shoot you -- what are brothers for hehehe

first of all thank you for your fast answer and help,
but I´m not so familiar with PC settings... so for my better understanding,
you say that we have to adapt the STEAM-setting ot NMS-setting ?

NO the game setting. In your game, in network you will see settings in there that may make it so you can't see each other but you see the results of each other's actions.

Gimme a minute Imma grab a picture for ya ;)

Hm, when you meet each other in the space station then you see nothing?, no player model or a glowing orb? I would also check the Network Settings in NMS then.

HG seems to be trying to impose multiplayer on us. A friend and I like to play in a shared private instance, but I am not quite sure how to accomplish that now. Anyone have info on the precise settings for this - I'd appreciate it.

Instead of joining your friend from the No Man's Sky main menu, join it from the VR Steam interface. I had the same problem until doing that.
A quick and easy solution was discovered ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAzG_7MKmao&t=3369s at 56:08 ) No utilities required, just switch your Steam Beta setting from Experimental to None, and it will roll you back to the previous version (if you are a Steam User that received the update before other users).
