.dds are the texture files the game uses
the "cache" specific folder. i don't believe so.
the files inside the random#folder, with the .hg extensions i believe are.
best to just backup the entire appdata NMS folder, before doing anything.
all the best.
The reason I'm asking is because I can't upload to the Workshop due to my entire Steam Cloud storage being taken up by my current game. I'm wondering if maybe the 600+ .dds files have something to do with it.
Oh, of course! That makes perfect sense. I wonder if all those little thumbnails are being uploaded to the cloud along with save game files.
so then.. you have it fixed? everything good?
Well, more or less. I forced the Cloud to wipe all those .dds files, and that freed up enough space to upload my base. The problem still remains that HG has a pitifully low storage limit on the Cloud. NMS has a 20 meg limit, whereas I have no-budget indie games in my library that have 1 GIG limits.
FYI, the .dds thumbnails were sucking up literally HALF of my total Cloud storage for NMS.
you need to give it a little bit of time.. lol. not sure when workshop and HG server syncs. but it will. eventually.
relax a bit.
Okay, okay. lol. I'll give it another try tonight.
