Indicator for Planet Types/Biomes on Map, etc?
Just wondering if there is any indicators of the Planetary types/biomes from the Galaxy Map, or otherwise - I don't seem to see any...

I have a mission to go to a specific biome (Scorched) and I realize that 'part of the fun' is not knowing what type of Planet it/one is, 'until you get there' - so it's not a huge deal, really - just wondering if I missed something somewhere.

Thanks

if you have already been to planets, you can see which planets have which type of biomes in your P menu (discoveries) by clicking on a planet under a system name. then travel back to that system using the space station teleporter.

Thanks, but this is asking about Undiscovered Planets (Scanned from the Map perhaps) or something similar

dont think there any way to see plaents specifics until you are in the system and do a scan from space, your best bet would be to warp to systems with at least 3 - 4 planets

i think you can see while in space when aiming at the planet what type it is without landing. scan it if it says unknown and wait for description to refresh.

i am not sure if there is ship scanner upgrade for this type of filtering on the galactic map

Only if you are looking for Exotic planets which seem to show up in systems with brighter stars. Otherwise it's pure luck I think.

Once you've been to a system and explored the planets they will come up in your discoveries (press P) with a résumé of its weather and resources:

However this seems to be bugged. At one point I needed solanum so went to Usoyuntos Prime as above but this is what I found:

No solanum!

The Guide in the Options screen explains the type of plants etc for specific biomes. Using the descriptions you can expect to find certain plants in specific biomes. Gamma weed in radioactive biomes and so on. If you scan planets for kinds of plants and resources, you'll likely find the scroeched planet type growing particular plants. The guide helps determine indirectly which biome type (radiation for example) contains which plant etc. perhaps found nearer the sun.

when you scan a planet just look the first ressource on the tootips .
the plant is the biome.

after that some resource can be find only in specific biome planet.

Thanks for all the great input. I suppose it would take too much away, if it gave 'too much info' on the Planets before actually going/seeing them... So much of the game is visual...

Ah well, it's not really needed, was just wondering - thanks again, everyone :2018ship:

The systems that require a special drive (such as indium) when jumping your starship (the freighter can go anywhere so long as its close) do have special characteristics everything else seems to be "go forth and discover".
